Well as one from Massachusetts, I suppose I am obligated to say Go Red Sox.
I am routing for the Yankess. They have more jewish fans than the Red Sox.
You are truly comic genius. It's almost unprecedented how funny your are.
lol I guess this is going to be a running theme?
And it's "rooting," you witless f*ck.
This is a blog me. I type rather quickly as you should know. Grammar is important but not vital here, sorry. Lighten up. I think I need to get laid.
I think what Litch meant was that the Yankess would be 'routing' the Red Sox.
Johnny D. better cut the H-Wood crap and the book tours and start thinking about baseball again.
What an IDIOT!!
Great point asdf. If Damon doesn't get off to a fast start, with all the crap surfacing about his off field life it could be a tough season for him.
I think the sox are going to be in for a rough spring, until their bats heat up. Their pitching depth is weak for now too. Schilling and Miller start on the DL. Clemment will be key. If the AL bats can't figure him out he will be a big addition. I still don't think keeping Millar over Doug M was a smart move. Nor do I think keeping McCarthy within 70 miles of Fenway was wise either. I just hope that they are within shooting distance at the trading deadline. They should have some dough and some expendable players to make a move.
Sadly, Sarge, I think you are right on all counts. Clement, Miller, and Wells give them depth in the starting rotation, but not the punch that Pedro or even Lowe were capable of giving them. As much as Millar offers for team chemistry, Minky's defense was so far superior that any dropoff at the plate--if indeed there's any huge gap between the two offensively--was made up for. In spite of Millar's protests that he wouldn't be a back-up, I would have kept Minky as the starter and used Millar in a utility role with occassional starts in RF and 1B against pitchers he matched up well against. They are still a great team and will certainly put up a fight in defending their title.
Hey, enough with the mean-spiritedness above in this thread.
Another thing is that the Yankees are stacked offensively and have some players poised to have big time years. A-ROD and Matsuki.Matsuki is my choice for MVP of that team. Also, Giambi had an off year and Bernie is in a contract year. They are due. They are better than they were a year ago, no doubt. As is Baltimore. The sox on the other hand had some guys who had career years and can't be expected to improve; such as Ortiz,Manny, Damon and Millar.Sure, Mueller and Nixon should be healthy and produce big time but thats it. I am hoping for the wild card. But is going to be tough until they warm up.We should have had flynnfiles predictions.
Don't mean to be negative, but the Sox have had their year. In Spring training and now at the start of the season, it seems to have been all fun and games for these guys and they're basking in the glow of the post championship.
Last year, they captured lightning in a bottle and beat even the mighty Yankees.
But, typical of the Yanks, they are back to ALL business and should be the team to beat this year. Again.
As they say, it's all about pitching and the Sox staff is much weaker this year than last.
