Eighteen Illegal Aliens Caught, Ten Million More To Go

The Minutemen, the citizens group in the Southwest that hopes to curb illegal immigration, helped the government apprehend eighteen people suspected of entering the United States illegally this weekend. "You observe them, report them and get out of the way," Minuteman spokesman Mike McGarry told the Associated Press. That's vigilantism?

It's always nice to see people take the theme of a Police Academy movie (4, Citizens on Patrol) and apply it to real life.

In all seriousness, these people are, I think doing the right thing. I support them.

Reporting illegal crossings is wonderful. But, will those who receive the reports actually do anything?

Our government has to start buying into the law here and treat illegal immigration as the crime that it is.

Will they? Or will the powers that be continue to pander for votes at the expense of our security and loss of national identity?

asdf, no because immigration judges get to rule on things.

So, we have witnesses that see people entering the country illegally and it is reported as such. We assume they are retained at some point. And, even though they are not U.S. citizens, they are still entitled to due process under our laws? Insane.

It should be very clear: you enter this country illegally; you get packed up and sent back to whence you came. Without a hearing. Period!

Amen!

The Minutemen are going to get killed by drug trafficers.

Not if they off them first.

Oh wait. We wouldn't want that to happen. We want these crimals to come into this country illegally, cause more crime. Suck up resources going through our court systems. Suck up more resources while doing time in our prisons.

And then have to Bush administration consider them for amnesty.

I think the best thing that's coming out of this is the exposure, the publicity. A group of citizens goes to the border with cameras and what-not, says "There they are, folks," dares the government to do something about it, and humiliates the Feds into doing...well, we're not sure yet. Bush has thus far argued against their efforts with nothing more intellectually supple than name-calling. This says a lot, and as dumb as people generally are, they're bright enough to see this disgrace for what it is. Bravo.

Here's to Pancho who calls us "dirty gringos". First of all you are not getting Texas back, besides if you did get it you'd ruin it too just like Mexico is a flithy 3rd world country. Ok you dirty SPIC!!
