ABC News spoke to American soldiers in Iraq about the presidential race. ABC acknowledged that the military is generally "conservative." But all of the soldiers whose opinions made it into ABC's article noted a preference for Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton. None selected John McCain, a Naval Academy graduate and former prisoner of war. Are we to believe ABC News spoke to no active duty servicemen who support John McCain? Four years ago, in the midst of the same war, troops voted overwhelmingly for Bush over Kerry. Yet, judging from the ABC article alone, one gets the impression that members of the armed forces have abandoned their Republican leanings. The ABC piece is the type of article where the reader learns very little about the subject matter (the political opinions of soldiers) and quite a bit about the author.
I think it's funny to hear people scream about how biased FoxNews is(yes you ,Mom), but are silent about the velvet hammer of liberal journalism firmly entrenched in the network television realm. Or CNN for that matter.
Apparently freedom of speech only means freedom of the speech that the anointed have deemed "correct".
ABC is great at having their news readers make empathetic facial gestures for liberally favored news items(D. Sawyer)..... I know , I know...that's pretty much every news items ABC reports on nowadays.
I find it difficult to believe that soldiers who are in harms way daily would choose either one of the two candidates who would undermine their safety and the overall mission. Especially two lightweights like B.Hussein.O and Hitlery.
Although, I would concede that it's possible as they likely would prefer to come home.

Wasn't there a news report showing that Ron Paul and Barack Obama both received the large donations from the military? If this is true, then such statements may not be that atypical.
I listen to Hannity, I read Dan Flynn, I watch Keith Oberman. The spin-free zone is usually amidst the three.
No offense intended, Dan.

Would you vote for a party that is putting your life at risk for no reason? Four years of McCain means four more years of Bush, and four more years of senseless, needless death and carnage in Iraq.
This is probably true. But it's naive to think that Obama or Hillary would end the war cold turkey.
McCain $uck$ but he $uck$ so much less than the other two (can't believe I have to say that). Not to mention that socialism would grow more slowly under him than the other two Saul Alinsky acolytes.

Respectfully , I'm sure the reasons for troops in Iraq may not suit your taste. But there are reasons nonetheless, thereby making your statement factually incorrect.
McCain will keep troops in Iraq for the same reason Barack or Hillary will. The same reasons have also compelled certain vocal proponents of troop withdrawal to effectively shut up after they were privy to the intelligence.....Intelligence that you and I have no access to....And yet we still make statements and forge positions on issues we haven't full knowledge about. That's why we elect officials to lead us. We can't all be in on classified information.
