I made the lonely I-95 journey from Washington, DC to Boston last night, so I'll be blogging from the Hub of the Universe (that nickname always struck me as bizarre) this weekend. The drive took seven hours, and the highlight came towards the tail end of the trip when Boston's WZLX played Abbey Road's side-two medley from "Golden Slumbers" through "The End" (No "Her Majesty"). The Democrats roll into town (or should I say more Democrats roll into town) next week, so I'll be departing before they can find me and do harm to me. The Democrats announced they will be giving bloggers credentials at the convention, but all of the bloggers happen to be liberals or Bush-bashers. No place at the table for FlynnFiles-types, I guess. Anyhow, with so many liberals already populating the area, and more of their brethren making their way to Boston from around the nation, I'm going to keep a low-profile in the 02474 zip-code area--kind of like you might do if you were in Mecca or Islamabad.
Hey Dan,
You’re brother posted the other day and asked where I was. I haven’t seen him in a while as I no longer work in Boston, the result being that I am no longer a regular at his place of business.
If you are taking the time to get in town, let him know and ask him to e-mail me. I’d like to meet you if you’re around and I can get in there. Maybe get an autograph on your book.
As S.F. will attest, I’m not a stalker and am a pretty regular guy. Just wondering if I’ll get a chance to meet the Man, the Myth, the Legend.
BTW: did you happen to catch Stuck on You?
I still haven't seen Stuck on You. I'm going to try to make it into Sean's establishment this evening. I'm always glad to lend my signature to anyone who has bought my book. Sean says you're way south of Boston now, so perhaps the Fall might be better with more lead time. But if you're in the Kitty O'Shea's neighborhood tonight, I may be there. Don't go out of your way, because I may not be there and I'll always be back in the Fall--with two books to sign!
I think "Radar Love" by Golden Earring is an awesome tune for a long drive. That and "Lost in Love" by Air Supply. Russel Hitchcock and Graham Russell rock!
Dan,
I’m not that far south that I can’t make it in and depending on the weather this evening, I’m going to try.
Parking is a pain so the sky has to cooperate if I’m going to park and walk.
Sean mailed me and gave me the scoop so if I see you, I see you. Not a problem either way.
Anyway, have a good time in and around Bean Town.
Mike,
It's looking increasingly unlikely that I will venture into Boston this evening. If you weren't going to go in anyway, don't bother. Sean will be working though. Let's try to meet up in the Fall.
Sounds good. In the meantime, I have to get to your new book. First was very good.
For the return drive, Dan, I recommend "Inna Gadda Da Vida." The drive will seem short compared to the drum solo, lol. Seriously though, good tune.
Don't catch any "lesions" while in Boston.
Be well,
Sponge
your more opt to get lesion listing to a song like Inna Gadda Da Vida i think?
