A teenage couple aborted their unborn child through repeated blows to the pregnant girl's stomach with a baseball bat. Michigan law prohibits such unlicensed violence against the unborn by a party other than the mother. Thus, the young man is being charged with a felony. Pro-abortion activists are crying foul.
"My heart went out to these poor kids," reacted defense attorney Miranda Massie, who has offered her services. "I believe it is a terrible mistake to be charged at all." It's as if Massie believes the baseball-bat weidling abortionists were the victims. Hello? They conspired to beat an unborn child to death with a Louisville Slugger.
But, feminists argue, why should the teenager be charged with a crime by partaking in an act that medical doctors get federal funds for? I share the feminists' premise but disagree with their conclusion. Yes, the young man's act is no different from abortion, a perfectly legal practice. But instead of rethinking the charges against the high-school student, maybe we should rethink the judicial decree prohibiting any local restriction of abortion, whether via a baseball bat, a vacuum, a saline needle, or some other equally menacing killing device.
This is a supreme (albeit disgusting) example of the Left's perverted sense of morality. It goes beyond Christ-like compassion to Satanic condonement. I believe we should not respond self-righteously, but must nevertheless mete out justice.
Dear Diary,
My 18yr old girlfriend is pregnant and my conscience is getting the better of me? Should I start using my head and use protection when I have sex or should I just use Daddy's toolbox and take care of it on my own?
What is wrong with these people? Maybe all these activists/feminists should try harder to become parents with a clue, instead of having to show their beliefs after ridiculous things like this happen. It's so important to these creeps to show the country, school commitee, advocate groups, city hall, etc,etc how they feel on issues in public, however are these the same type of people who's children perform these foolish acts? Worrying more about basic parenting skills and raising kids without the help of textbooks seems like a better approach to me. I can't stand this new world we live in where everything is a support group and parents can't wait to get involved in their kids school system. When did things change so drastically. Am I alone here when I say that at times it is ok to give your child a slight ass whippin when things get out of hand? Kids these days have no fear, therefore they see no consiquences to their mistakes/actions. Maybe I feel like I'm getting old or something but these people who preach support and are quick to point out judicial misjustices to me are the root of our problems. Be a better parent and in most cases something like this can be avoided.
Are you a parent?
Perhaps he should be charged with practicing medicine without a license? Or operating an abortion clinic without a license?
Dan, that was so well said. I loved your third paragraph! Clear thinking!
Parent, why is that the first thing that you ask?
I was just curious....
Beautifully written, Dan. My favorite post of yours thus far.
