A Cornel Western

When race-obsessed Cornel West invokes race in his takedowns of black conservatives, the Left cheers. Now that he has questioned the president's status as a real black man, the Left is shocked, shocked. my article @ FrontPagemag (be sure to continue to second page) on the showdown between the big man on campus and the big man in America.

Dr. West is more an anti-establishmentarian than anything else, and when asked if he was a liberal he replied, "I'm a Christian." So yeah, he's a big, bad, scary, race-obsessed a-hole.

You should do a blog about the dearth of quality 2012 Republican candidates. You guys lost Mitch the Bitch, who I thought was a very smart guy although I vehemently disagree with his programs that have turned IN into literally the filthiest, dirtiest, most dangerously polluted state in the nation for short-term profit. He had a hilarious quote when asked about his wife abandoning him and his children and him readily taking her back a couple years later. "If you like happy endings, you'll love our story." It's that kind of ability to deploy witticisms that would've made him a very, very difficult candidate to beat, even despite the fact that he was a former pharmaceutical CEO AND Bush's budget director (LOL!).

Anyway, what's going on with that crop of lima beans, really? Do a post about the 2012 GOP candidates, Dan. Maybe talk about how everyone hates Romney, Newt has spent millions on jewelry, Cain doesn't know the difference between the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, and nobody cares about anyone else. Is Huntsman really the best shot? Conservatism is a wasteland with no moral, intellectual, or political leaders.

Maybe Holder was right. Maybe we are cowards when it comes to talking about race. YOU obviously don't want to talk about it.

Though I do think its funny that when the racism of a "favored class" is highlighted, you respond by attacking Christianity.

Off topic as usual, but I'll bite.

I believe this joker is very beatable. His record is abysmal and he’s lost many of the moderates and dumb azzed guilty white voters who put him over the top last time.

And consider that last time he was blank slate and ran against a very weak GOP candidate. Plus, he had the B.D.S. going for him.

He’ll have slightly more money this time but I’m not convinced that will matter. The wildcard for the GOP is if the powers that be nominate another McCain like candidate. Some old fool RINO who’s turn it is.

Let’s hope (for change) that gas is $4.00 a gallon, unemployment is still at 9% and that the destructive fruits of Obamacare become more apparent to the average voter by mid 2012.

And LOL regarding the GOP fields' issues.

You're talking about overdue accounts and lack of Constitutional knowedge when we got a fraud in there now who can only speak from a teleprompter, can't pronounce many of the more simple words in the English language, has little concept of simple math, doesn't know history, geography or culture and hasn't produced or managed a thing in his life.

Yeah, who could compete with or beat him??!!

Posted by: asdf on May 25, 2011 04:16 PM

Homer,

I don't mind talking about race, I just don't think that's the entirety of Dr. West's message. He's an anti-establishmentarian Christian. How exactly did you get out of that comment that it was an attack on Christianity, btw?

asdf,

I don't defend Obushma and Obushma isn't the point, nor was I disputing the notion that Obushma is beatable; of course he is. The point is that your field of candidates is God forsaken and awful and you weren't able to point to the name of one honest, noble moral, intellectual, or political conservative leader. Your standard-bearers are pathetic.

I'm sorry, so you were NOT trying to draw a parallel between his being a "big, bad, scary, race-obsessed a-hole" and his being a Christian?

Posted by: Homer J. Fong on May 25, 2011 07:58 PM

Argument by innuendo. Gives PMA a chance to back away from his position if challenged, while leaving the original suggestion in people's minds.

Akin to saying West isn't a racist, he's a Christian. *wink, wink.

Homer wasn't the only one to read that post and see the subtle comparison. Anyone else?

Off topic, but it's been brought up, so I'll ask, talking of GOP possibilities, anyone got any thoughts on Bobby Jindal?

Right, I was being sarcastic. I don't think he's a scary a-hole. He's an extremely liberal, anti-establishmentarian Christian, which is a good thing. The only things I'm guilty of is poor writing and not making myself clear. Notice also that I referred to him as Dr. West. I've seen him interviewed by Amy Goodman on DemocracyNow! and I respect and enjoy his commentary.

The hatred the right has for Dr. West is unfounded. In the past I've praised other liberal Christians and liberation theologists in Latin America who were brutally murdered by conservative thugs funded by the Reagan administration. There's a long and storied history of dignified, revolutionary Christians, including Jesus himself, who was a radical left-wing revolutionary murdered by the conservative establishment. I'm just not a fan of the egoistic conservative version of Christianity, which is simply a redressed version of Satanism.

I recently read an article from a conservative praising the bonuses and record-breaking profits in the banking and investment sector, claiming that those who are worried about stagnating incomes and an increasingly dwindling middle class need to stop worrying about other people and quote "learn how to go out and get it." This is the essence of modern conservatism--look out for yourself, screw everyone else, and claim it is moral and that the problem lies with the sufferers, who should just go out and screw everyone else instead of worrying about the suffering. This maxim is also espoused by most conservative Christians, which is the essence of evil and Satanism as well.

Evil Conservatives murdered Jesus? Conservatives are akin to Satanists? I smell a Mel Gibson-style anti-Semetic rant here.... Nice tolerant liberal calls the Jews murderous devils...

I think that Cornel West is certainly mislabeling Barack Insane Obama and he knows it. He’s a trouble maker who has to realize that for Obama to keep his job and the power that goes along with it, he has to play along slightly to appear to be someone he’s not. The reality is that he is closer to Mr. West than he is, say, a Clarence Thomas. In fact, if BHO had not been successful in politics, I can see him sitting in the faculty lounge somewhere smoking and discussing the destruction of our nation.

Problem is, he can do more than discuss it now.

I believe that both think that chaos is a good thing, most always take the contrarian view, and both hope for the dismantling of the United States as it is (was?) currently constituted as some kind of half a$$ed plan for reparations and to build a new social order.

And, btw, the left loves to feign shock. As noted, in the Claude Rains sense of the word.

It’s not difficult to notice how, for the most part, liberals hate Christians as Christians typically demonstrate conservative values. It’s always a backhanded slap at Conservative ideology to pull Christians into the mix even when it does not apply.

Johnny one notes.

Like their support for First Amendment rights as long as they are protecting some pornographer or the NEA when it displays ‘Pi$$ Christ’ or some other defecation on the Church. Or allowing a big time O/Dem Hollywood supporter like Larry David to create cinematic bile where somebody can pi$$ on a picture of Jesus yet if a priest agreeing with the tenets of the Catholic Church and supporting pro-life or some Conservative verbalizing an opinion in public it is deemed high treason.

The left regularly demonstrates an evil that’s hard to deny.

West has always been a whack job, but he went off the deep, deep end a couple of years ago. Here are two paragraphs from a great review of his most recent book:

If sketchy in other regards, Brother West is never anything but expansive on how Cornel West feels about Cornel West. He is deeply committed to his committed-ness, and passionately passionate about being full of passion. Various works of art, literature, music, and philosophy remind West of himself. He finds Augustinian humility to be deeply meaningful. This is mentioned in one sentence. His taste for three-piece suits is full of subtle implications that require a couple of substantial paragraphs to elucidate.

[Quoting from West's book:] "The basic problem with my love relationships with women is that my standards are so high -- and they apply equally to both of us. I seek full-blast mutual intensity, fully fledged mutual acceptance, full-blown mutual flourishing, and fully felt peace and joy with each other. This requires a level of physical attraction, personal adoration, and moral admiration that is hard to find. And it shares a depth of trust and openness for a genuine soul-sharing with a mutual respect for a calling to each other and to others. Does such a woman exist for me? Only God knows and I eagerly await this divine unfolding. Like Heathcliff and Catherine’s relationship in Emily Bronte’s remarkable novel Wuthering Heights or Franz Schubert’s tempestuous piano Sonata No. 21 in B flat (D.960) I will not let life or death stand in the way of this sublime and funky love that I crave!"

I wonder if Emily Bronte ever used the word 'funky'?

What a fargin tool.

Homer, have you stopped beating your wife?

To quote a much wiser man than myself: "Truly, you have a dizzying intellect."

"Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line!"

West is an affirmative action racist nut case. Who cares what he has to say about anything.

"Homer, have you stopped beating your wife," is the classic example used to explain argument by innuendo.

PMA's original comment is an adequate alternate.

Anyone disagree except PMA?

Thou doth protest too much.
