The Ghosts of Grant Park

Barack Obama holds his victory celebration in Grant Park tonight. Two of his earliest political supporters held a celebration of violence and nihilism in Grant Park thirty-nine-years ago. Read my special Election Day article in City Journal on the long, strange trip of Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, who have gone from children of privilege in the 1950s, to Weatherman rioters in Grant Park in 1969, to Grant Park celebrants of their friend's winning of the highest office in the land in 2008. Even in victory Obama can't escape his loser friends who have dogged him the whole campaign.

They'll finish the celebration by putting together Obama's Civilian National Security Force who will start by making sure everybody's thermostats are set to 65 degrees and eventually get around to checking houses and confiscating guns then move on to eradicating "hate speech" against the Messiah.

Dude, you forgot the Haymarket Riots. If Chicago is the birthplace of Communism in the US, Grant Park is the Delivery Room.

Before Mr. Obama can hold his victory celebration he has to win the election. While it does seem to be more likely than not that Mr. Obama will win the election, it is by no means certain. It may be a bit premature for Mr. obama and his team to to start planning a victory celebration.

Yeah, but wasn't the seat on his campaign jet labeled "President Obama"? That was months ago and he was already there so the rest of it is just a formality, right?

For anyone interested in such things, both NRO and Real Clear Politics--and hopefully more such sites--link to this "Ghosts in Grant Park" article. So read the article, as it's generating some interest beyond the FlynnFiles universe.

Why would he want to abandon his friends? 1) He still agrees with them; 2) the media doesn't give a damn about it; 3) his suppoorters don't care and are aplogists for Ayers; 4) the general public is ignorant of why it matters who he identifies with . . . should I continue?
