Pot. Kettle. Black.

Days after tens of thousands of drunken Brits saw their World Cup hopes dashed after England's star player decided to stomp on an opposing player's groin comes word that a majority of Brits find America "uncultured" and "vulgar." On the eve of the Fourth of July, which celebrates our shaking off the imperial chains of England, two-thirds of Brits lambaste the United States as an imperial power. Will a survey of Brits next lament how Americans have teeth that look like Raisinets? Will a majority of Brits decry the many boarding schools that introduce the youth of America to sodomy? Will a poll find that Brits think that American women look like they haven't seen the sun for six months, talk like they are in a prison yard, and constantly sweat Newcastle Brown Ale through the pores of their bloated beer bodies? Before you look across the pond, look down at your reflection first.

Daniel, don't you be dissin' the New Castle! Sorry for the ebonics. Seriously, New Castle? Nah, they sweat Harp. That stuff is rancid. Also, remember, they're Europeans. They'll always look down on us because they've been Nations longer than us. This attitude will never change. Many people need to feel superior to others. It's part of man's nature.

Jealousy is an ugly thing. What have they got as compared to our country? They're not a world power anymore, have few natural resources and are one of Europes premier consumers, don't produce much. Have basically one lousy sport and a collective alcohol problem.

Meanwhile, although we have our issues here, there are many things to envy in the good old U.S. One of which is that we don't have a queen.

ASDF, we don't have a Queen. However, in San Francisco, we have many queens. Sorry, man. It was there...

There was a link on that storie's page earlier where they spoke to some small town Americans. Naturally they painted all but one of them as ignorant yahoos, the only one who was talked about favorably was a WW2 vet who expressed a positive opinion about England. Everyone else in town didn't care what they thought of us.

What I find hilarious is the British, with their history, accusing anyone of being an imperial power.

I was there in the 70's when it wasn't quite as "out of the closet in your face" gay. But, yes, there were and are queens in SF. And, although I'm sure England has it's share of queens, there's only one Queen of the monarchy and it's not clear to anybody but the beer guzzling Brits what that Queen's purpose is.

They hate us because they want to be us.

And who wouldn't? For those who don't like us: f'em! Fortress America is ok by me.
