Tune in to Boston's Talk Evolution 96.9 WTKK tonight to listen to me as I fill-in for Michele McPhee. If for some strange reason you live outside of the Hub of the Universe, click the "listen live" button on WTKK's website to listen live from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. tonight. What should I be talking about on the air?
How about the Pats old uni's? i kinda miss'em.
I could do without em’. Whenever they wear those retro uniforms, their play seems to go retro as well and they play like the old Patsies.
Oh come on, asdf, that come from behind win was vintage Brady/2000's Pats.
Oh, I most certainly agree. It was a spectacular, if not somewhat lucky, win.
The first td to Watson - a thing of Brady beauty. And the strip - past remembrances of Harrison or Bruschi stripping the ball. And the second td to Watson with the pressure on - vintage Tom Brady. No question.
But, the stars must have been aligned for them last night as it was a sloppy football game and they still won! Or are they just that good?
Going forward, I think the passing offense (as demonstrated later in the game) will be on track and play well.
But - BUT - they still can't get the running game going and the defense if very suspect.
We’ll see, won’t we?
They're playing my Jets Sunday so we'll see about both defenses. My Finace is a Pats fan, so it should be an interesting weekend around here. We usually don't speak the weekend of a Jets-Pats game, I'll probably ride my Harley to Flagstaff for the first part of the weekend just to stay out of harms way.
I've got more friends who are Jets and Bills fans [frickin’ New Yorkers! ;-) ] than Pats fans and as we get to watch at least four Pats games a season together, they are amazed and humbled at how our team consistenly humbles their teams.
After all the lean years with bad Pats teams, I have to stop and often reflect on what it means to have been a fan in the Y2K’s with the spectacular T.B. at the controls and B.B. plotting the attack.
Simply put: we’re spoiled. We somehow forget that there is a lot of talent in the NFL and that anything short of a blowout is still acceptable for any team at the professional level. It’s not a bad thing for a football fan to have to deal with. As long as they win.
So, I have to give credit where due: the Bills played a great game the other night. But at the end, the Pats (and T.B. in particular) were greater. Either way, no need to be verklempt.
The Pats have been a superior team to the Jets and Bills in the 2k's for sure. I tell my friends who are fans of dominant teams: Enjoy it as much as you can because nothing lasts forever (except maybe Red Wings dominance) and it can end in the blink of an eye.
Enjoy the game Sunday!
