YouTube, Drudge, MichelleMalkin, and sites beyond broadcast the Saddam execution video. No thanks! FlynnFiles isn't Faces of Death. Get that gore elsewhere, if at all. The best I can do is link to the Gallows Pole off Led Zeppelin III. If that's not good enough, and you really, really, really want to see Saddam Hussein executed, then watch Eric Cartman do it seven years before the Iraqis did it. Life imitates art.
Just knowing that the execution was successfully carried out and that piece of human garbage is gone should be good enough. Shouldn't it?
I think it is necessary for this execution to be public in Iraq. They need to be sure he is dead, and the trouble-makers should see that their new state is able and willing to execute murderers (of course capital punishment can discourage crime!).
But there is no need for Americans to see it. Ideological commitments can make people do sick things, though, like find pleaure (and validation of one's commitment to the war) in watching a man be killed.
