Obama Sinking

Only 46 percent of the American people approve of Barack Obama's performance as president, claims a new poll by Rasmussen. Forty-one percent strongly disapprove, with only thirty percent saying they strongly approve. Eighty-three percent of Republicans disapprove of the post-partisan president's job performance.

Eeeeeeexcellent.

I think you meant to type "Eighty-three percent of Republicans disapprove".

I'm shocked he's polled this well for this long. Although he did promise he'd increase troop levels in Afghanistan, most believed he would be more aggressive fighting corporate interests, which was part of his campaign promise, that he would attempt to craft policy and lead the executive branch more transparently, and most importantly that he would discontinue the Bush administration's human rights atrocities. That he continued the Bush regime's TARP and stacked his cabinet and advisors with superhawks (Clinton, Emmanuel, Biden, Jones) and Wall Street losers [or winners, depending on your viewpoint(Summers, Turbotax, Rubin)] and that he reappointed Bernanke was devastating to those who desperately wanted real change. After these moves, those on the informed left weren't very surprised when he cannibalized a true chance at meaningful, democratized health reform to appease his corporate masters. After he made the laughable declaration that he'd "move within a year" to close Guantanamo and flagrantly persisted with extraordinary rendition, it's not too surprising to see his poll numbers finally dropping.

Good catch, PMA. I fixed in original.

Others can debate whether there is a correlation between his sinking popularity and the continuity between the policies of this and the late administration. What's undeniable is your point that there are so many similarities between Obama and his predecessor. As I posted on Day 1 of the Obama presidency, "Welcome to the Bush-Obama years. Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss." Prescient, no?

Same as the old boss? No. Similar? Yes.

The difference is that Obama has tipped the scales politically and philosophically so far the to radical left that it's hard to identify whether or not the current occupant of the White House is the President of the United States or the Premier of some new South American banana republic.

Apologies for American exceptionalism around the world; czars; spending insane amount of money knowing our debt load; taking over private industries; selling those industries off to foreign entities that are not friendly to the U.S.; initializing racial tension and class warfare....not enough time.

Bush wasn't even close in the negative column and at least resembled a man with America's interests at heart. And then there's the chasm of difference with regard to experience. Bush had some; Bama's got none.

Obama seems to be working toward "President" of the world content that America comes after Albania on the scale of nations.

Ultimately, no surprises here.

He's a milquetoast liberal, there is nothing radical about him in either direction. The best proof of this is that asdf thinks he's a communist and PMA believes he's a slave to corporate masters. Neither is true, but he is ineffective and bumbling.

Pertinent to this discussion, another brilliant entry by Dr. Sowell today highlighting, again, how an inexperienced weakling like Obama is degrading our safety while helping to soften our resolve.

This is exactly why little Barry avoided obtaining employment in the real world. This is a 47 year old child, who has flim-flammed his way through life with lies and deception.
This may work when dealing with Marxist "community organizers" and university professors, but very few other places.

For the first time in his adult life, boy Obama is being held accountable for results not words.
He is now in a position where he can't flim flam his way through this job.
This worked on the disinterested, those who are suckers for con men, and all the free MSMedia
assistance.
Now he is on the clock and finds himself failing miserably.
The old saying down south applies to Obama,
"Never send a boy to do a man's job"

As Lenin once said, "Medicine is the keystone in the arch of socialism."

As my friend in Texas says: All head and no cattle. Looks like it might be true in describing Obama. I'm trying to keep an open mind but I don't like what I'm seeing so far.

LOL! This is from the Campaign Finance Institute:

"Change You Can Believe In?

The main beneficiaries of fundraising for the presidential nominating conventions of course were the campaigns of Senators Barack Obama and John McCain. The former’s campaign has promised that “Senator Obama’s reform priorities will include changes in the way party conventions are funded to assure they can be run without dependence on soft money.”6 No specific proposal has surfaced yet."

earlier in the article

"# Investment companies: These institutions, all of which also contained hedge funds, provided $1.5 million, largely divided between the two committees. Donors included Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan Chase, UBS and the recently defunct Lehman Brothers. Three of these firms have received federal aid.

# Banks: These other financial institutions (Citigroup, US Bancorps, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America) have either received, or are potentially eligible for, federal assistance."

President Obama has been brought to you by (insert incompetent, inefficient private-sector tyranny welfare case here).

If you think BO is the same as Bush then you must be sent to your corner with a TARD hat on!

Wake up academia, he's a communist just like you.

LOL tagm....right on. Some are either not getting that for some reason or are refusing to believe it. But it's pretty clear we ain't never had anybody like the O sitting at 1600 Penn.

For those who doubt the similarities between the previous and current president, putting aside social issues like affirmative action and abortion, how are Obama and Bush different? What specific policies that Obama has implemented would've differed from Bush if the administration hadn't changed? I don't see how policy implementation and government actions have changed; only the empty rhetoric has.

How is it that the President is taking time out of his supposedly busy schedule to beam his voice and image to schools on September the 8th and in the process insert himself directly into minds of the Nation’s children? Hmmm?!

This is proposed to initiate and execute much verbal and written discussion. About what? Well, about the President’s favorite topic of course: him. And, or course, how much he will do for us and how much he cares.

And just think of how much more of O we will see once he completely controls the internet.

Just like the others? Double Hmmm.
