Government Motors

Rick Wagoner thought he was the CEO of General Motors. He was mistaken. The CEO's name is Barack Obama. Once the auto giant accepted a government bailout, they became, in the government's eyes, part of the state. No word yet on if Obama gets to appoint GM's new CEO, or if the position requires senate confirmation. Beam me up, Scotty.

The Community Organizer/Campaigner in Chief should do a stellar job with all of this as I'm sure he's got the smarts to handle the management and coordination of such a monstrous and complicated undertaking. He did, after all, go to Harvard.

It IS all going perfectly according to plan, isn’t it?

How much do you want to bet some top UAW guys end up in the Company's management hierarchy?

That would be another way to pay them back for helping to get him elected.

Have I mentioned Greek Tragedy?

Making the rounds Dan. You and Horowitz on Carr was a good segment. Huge DH fan. Especially now that I know he's a hockeykrishna.

He said he was a Flyers fan, which is surprising given his NYC roots and SoCal residency.

Obama is the new CEO at GM. Let's watch that stock price. Post-bankruptcy they may succeed, but only sans Obama.

Looks also like a done deal that President Goodwrench will be taking over Chrysler as well. Lord help us.

I guess when the co-chair of Barack Obama’s Transition Team, Valerie Jarrett, appeared on Meet the Press and told Tom Brokaw that Obama will be ready to “rule” on day one, you might have thought that she misspoke and meant “govern”.

But no, she spoke the truth and it’s clear that little Barry certainly intends to rule. Especially where he doesn’t know how to govern.

So what happened to all that Trinity "Christian" church stuff that the One used when it was important for him to be able to fit in with the sucke....eh, his constituents in Chi Town?

Seems like Muslims have the fast track in Barack Hussein Obama's administration....

According to the Washington Examiner (via Drudge), Frank wants to set all wages and salaries. (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/politics/Beyond-AIG-A-Bill-to-let-Big-Government-Set-Your-Salary-42158597.html),
and according to Bloomberg, Obama's tight timeframe is still going to send GM into bankruptcy, anyway. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aXbrsK4NXMi0&refer=home

Yes, yes, It IS all going perfectly according to plan....

Hate to say it, but as much as he $ucked big Gobstoppers, McCain is looking pretty good right now.

Have I mentioned Greek Tragedy, lately?

Yeah, we'd just be stuck with Cap-n-trade, instead of full-scale seizure of the planet's largest corporate venture in my lifetime.

And look before you ere you leap,
For as you sow, ye are like to reap.

GM deserves no one's pity. They asked for this.\

How appropriate, the Queen of England today meets the new King and Queen of the United States. Monarch to Monarch.

When you think about it, either one of them has little or no experience governing and both are pretty much ceremonial figure heads.

Couldn't have GM claimed bankruptcy back in November of last year when Mitt Romney suggested it or before? They could have kept the feds away, kept their company and in the bargain, made themselves into a viable lean going concern and trimmed the UAW stranglehold in the process.

Now that they are a fully owned U.S. Government Corporation, President Goodwrench and his pack of incompetentistas are working for a fully owned U.S. Government Corporation bankruptcy claim.

I guess GM thought that they would have nothing to fear when they accepted money from the Fed as the takeover was an unprecedented move not ventured by any of the previous U.S. Presidents. But there’s a new sheriff in town.
