Take Me To Your Leader

"The Iraqi prime minister is an anti-Semite," Howard Dean told business leaders in West Palm Beach on Wednesday. The national chairman of the Democratic party also called U.S. Senate candidate Katherine Harris a "crook" and compared her to Josef Stalin. Every twice in a while Democrats remind Americans why they have lost three elections in a row.

I'm pretty sure if the PM continues to criticize Israel a lot of "conservatives" will be calling him an anti-Semite as well

With people like Dean in Democratic leadership positions, no need for the Republicans to have to worry for quite a while.

Well if the Neocons can call Pat Buchanan an anti-semite then I don't see why Howard Dean cannot call the prime minster of Iraq an anti-semite as well. Although I suspect Dean's real motivation was to expose the absurdity of the war in Iraq -- we send troops to die so another anti Israeli Arab leader can come to power. While this is true it's hardly an effective critique of the war.

Is anyone sure Dean isn't a Republican? He's done more to give the Democratic party a black eye in the last few years than anyone I can think of. Can anyone think of a better endorsement of conservatism than simply shutting up and letting this guy speak?

Dean,Pelosi,Durbin,Kennedy, etc. still have the fantasy that they represent "mainstream" American beliefs and values. They believe they are in the mainstream and they may be mainstream, however, they more mainstream European socialist values more than middle Americans values.
I find it to be very amusing when they refer to their ideas on government being consistent with the founding fathers.

Howard Dean has no capacity for shame, he makes a fool of himself everytime he speaks from the "heart" and doesn't follow a canned speech.
Then again, he may be an expert on Stalin, Dean and his ilk spent two decades defending Stalinist policies.

I highly doubt that those mentioned previously have even a clue of what the founding fathers were about. First off, you have to read books and more specifically history and biographical books to understand what concepts and accomplishments those men championed. I'm not saying that there aren't Republicans that fit this mold, but it seems that most if not all of the current crop of high profile Dems are intellectual and morale lightweights who are in politics more for the posturing and social agendering than they are to take real leadership rolls and govern.
