Bush's Congress

Did the Democrat sweep in November's elections really kill President Bush's legislative agenda? Or, did it breath new life into it? With Republicans controlling Congress, the president failed to grant amnesty to illegal aliens. Now, with Democrats in control of both the House and the Senate, the president's chances of legalizing the twelve to twenty million illegal immigrants in the United States are better than ever. From the No Child Left Behind Act to the creation of the Department of Homeland Security to McCain-Feingold anti-free speech campaign finance reform to the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan to amnesty for illegal aliens, the agendas of George W. Bush and his ostensible enemies in the Democratic Party have more in common than either care to admit.

So true.

Hehe is this a good or bad thing to you?

This is another example of the arrogance and elitist attitude demonstrated by our ruling class. Illegal immigration is the number one concern among a majority of the electorate, trumping even the war, but it doesn’t seem to matter to these pandering weasels who would prefer to completely disregard the will of the people and take another step toward allowing this country to get swallowed up by foreign invaders.

It's getting impossible to see the differences between any of them. It is clear that the agenda is to let the country go for cheap labor, votes and the further pursuit of political posturing all while waving the flag. Sick.

ASDF you couldn't be more wrong on immigration.

Most people could really give a f*uk about immigration.

A majority think that something needs to be done about border security, but they put very little emphasis on it.

It usually ranks seventh or eighth on people's list of concern after iraq, GOT, health care, gas prices, and the environment.

If the people supported the tancredo-buchanan-dobbs position on immigraiton, Randy Graff would be in Congress right now.

He's not.

A lot of conervatives say that George W. Bush's presidency is a betrayal of the conservative movement.

But George w. Bush's presidency is in fact a total repudiation of conservatism.

Bush is what happens when conservative thought meets reality.

We know that the Soviet Union's collapse has all but put an end to the dangerous myth of communism.

The collapse of George W. Bush's presidency will put an end to the childish, anti-democratic, liberty-challenged fantasy world that is modern American conservatism.

Posted by: HeHe on December 5, 2006 08:42 PM

Are you finished?

In any event, demographics more or less ensure the eventual triumph of conservatism in America. Demographics are destiny.

Meth is a very dangerous drug. Or, is it BDS?

Posted by: asdf on December 6, 2006 01:12 PM

HA!!

That's good for a laugh.

The fertility rate among Hispanics is TWICE that of whites.

How did Hispanics vote in the last election again?

70 PERCENT DEMOCRAT!!

Demography is destiny indeed.

Posted by: HeHe on December 6, 2006 02:27 PM

I find it funny how this guy arbitrarily spews incorrect statistics. Truth is, the Hispanic vote consists of 5-6% of the popular and in the last election, 40% of them voted for Bush. And even though he acts like one, don’t think he’s a Democrat.

Posted by: asdf on December 6, 2006 02:56 PM

Yeah 40% voted for Bush in 2004.

That was BEFORE the republican meltdown on immigration jacka*s.

That went down to under 30% in 2006, and so long as the Repubs continue to blame immigration for everything that's wrong in their lives that will continue.

It aounted for 7 percent of the vote in 2006, and will only grow and grow.

Demography is destiny.

And bible thumping, flagwaving, wifebeater wearing whiteboys like you are destined to the dustbin of history.

"And bible thumping, flagwaving, wifebeater wearing whiteboys like you are destined to the dustbin of history."

And ASDF is the racist? Open mouth, insert foot.

As I said: Meth is a very dangerous drug.

Although, from the way I'm reading these rants, I'm starting to think maybe Crack could be responsible.

Posted by: asdf on December 6, 2006 04:51 PM

Yep.

Latinos are voting democrat.

And you blame crack.

Who's the racist here?

please.

Posted by: HeHe on December 6, 2006 05:03 PM

That's an excellent question. Whe IS the rascist??

Posted by: asdf on December 6, 2006 05:16 PM

Has it occured to you that ASDF may be referring to your rants, not the voting habits of a particular ethnic group? Wow!

Posted by: Ancient Mariner on December 6, 2006 05:16 PM

Reading the posts should make it crystal (pun intended) clear who's playing the race card.

Heha: How would you know ASDF's race and shirt preference anyway?

Posted by: Ancient Mariner on December 6, 2006 05:20 PM

President Bush is a not a conservative and his failures -- on border security, in Iraq etc -- do not repudiate conservatism. If we take the war in Iraq as an example, it is true that the idea of invading Iraq and then transforming it into a democratic society is delusional, but this idea only seems credible if one has abandonded all conservative tenets. A conservative would have understood that Iraq's sectarian divisions and tribal loyalties and general illiteracy could not form the basis of a democratic society.

Morever, from a foreign policy stand point the war in Iraq ignored the importance of the balance of powers. Iran was an enemy of both Afghanistan and Iraq and now that've we eliminated two of their enemies, they are now in a much better position to dominate the region.

Iraq is a failure because it isn't conservative. Conservative ideas never fail; delusional ones almost always fail.

Posted by: Eric Wilds on December 6, 2006 05:20 PM

You're right George Bush isn't a conservative.

He's what happens when conservative ideas meet reality.
