Amazon.com has altered its search engine at the behest of a liberal complainer. Searches for "abortion" resulted in a computer-generated response: "Did you mean adoption?" That choice, apparently, didn't sit well with the pro-choice quibbler. An Amazon spokesman detailed why searching "abortion" prompted the "adoption" query. It had nothing to do with the search engine's political bias, Amazon's Patty Smith explained, it is just that "Adoption and abortion are the same except for two keystrokes." Really, are abortion and adoption the same except for two keystrokes?
That's rather typical isn't it. When a pro-abort is looking up titles on the subject of abortion the last thing they want to be reminded of is that they don't actually have to murder their child. For that matter, mentioning adoption also serves to underscore what "terminating a pregnancy" does; I mean one doesn't "adopt" a fetus but a baby.
Wierd how that collection of cells, in the picture Dan links to, looks almost entirely like a baby...
Pictures like that one just devastate me; I can't bear look more than a few moments. There is nothing more horrible.
If such images were a significant part of the abortion debate, legalized abortion would not exist in this country. It's simply too monstrous for a normal person with normal sensibilities to tolerate.
Ralph,
Amen.
I'm with you, Ralph, though I made myself look longer. It is, unfortunately, impolite and eccentric to display such pictures more commonly, say, on an office door or some such.
On the other hand, I saw a student today in the cafeteria sitting in a cardboard box to recruit for a charity. (She was actually on a cell phone, lol.) It's ok to pose morally and publicly and appeal to emotion and pity and try to churn up outrage when libs like the cause, but showing dead babies is rude.
Are we wimps for not showing these pictures more commonly?
Wimp,
If it makes you feel better at one particular corner of Times Sq. there is almost always a guy with a number of these horrific pictures on display and he preaches his heart out.
I don't know if it has much impact and the fellow is kinda odd it seems, but maybe when doing prayer vigils, etc., outside abortuaries pro-lifers should give more thought to showing these pictures.
Funny how I can flip through cable channels and suddenly be looking in on an appendectomy or some such invasive surgery but Fox News wouldn't let Matt Drudge show a picture of a baby reaching out of the womb to grasp a doctors finger, let alone pictures like this. If abortion is just a "medical procedure" then why don't we see it on t.v., like all the damn breast augmentation surgeries that seem to be shown on MTV and E!.
