I like my comedians with smiles on their faces. Al Franken seems to sport a scowl more often than not these days. It's hard to make people laugh when you're angry all the time. From looking at these pictures hosted on Drudge, it's obvious something made Stuart Smalley snap. Could it be the fact that his city has been taken over by Republicans?

I think it is because he "just wants to be loved" and can't find any takers (or listeners).

. . . btw, I know it was Lovitz who always said he just wants to be loved, but the "doggone it people like me" line didn't fit as well.

You'd be angry too if your radio idea were a money pit. Anyone actually listened to the shows, particularly his own? I tuned in a few days ago just to see what was being said about the convention but unfortunately they were just doing replays of Franken's show under the guise of "best of Franken." I think he's a funny guy, and I liked his book, but as for being a radio personality he stinks on ice.

Whatever...I don't remember the last (or FIRST) time this "comedian" made me laugh.

If this post doesn’t take the cake what does? 2 stilted snapshots of a moment in time perhaps of Al Franken ordering a turkey sandwich from that bastion of journalism Matt Drudge. The conclusion drawn is that Franken is angry all the time. The tone of his radio show is to enlighten using humor and pointing up contradiction. Franken highlights the distortion that the right wing uses to make its points. You may not agree or think it funny but angry all the time? Isn’t it the ultimate “pot calling the kettle black” for the right to accuse the left of being angry all the time. Check out Michael Savage, Ann Coulter, Rush and most other conservative radio pundits if you really want anger

Isn't he one of those Angry White Men who couldn't stand Clinton and voted against Gore last election?

Oh, that's right, a lib could never be that on all counts.

When conservatives are angry, they are called Angry White Men. When liberals are angry, they're just venting their frustration with the conservatives.

Franken was never funny and is a premier A-hole.

Conservatives are angry and should be. Conservatives represent the aggrieved party (not political – but people).

It’s our money being taken by the government that gets wasted on social programs that are abdominal failures.

It’s our kids who are being told “sorry you had better grades, higher test scores and were all around more qualified but we gave the (fill in the blank: college admissions seat, job, promotion) to someone less qualified than you because they have a different skin color.”

It’s our side who goes through lengthy legal process to get questions put on ballots for voters to decide, and after they pass overwhelmingly, it’s liberals who use the courts to have them declared “unconstitutional.”
