What is really sad is that George H. Bush wasn't very popular and Iraq made him only popular momentarily. Pres. Bush was legitimately popular post 9/11 and with Afghanistan but then destroyed his own popularity with the imprudent invasion of Iraq. Hoist with his own petard as they say.
