George Tenet Resigns

Central Intelligence Agency Director George Tenet resigned today. Better late than never, I guess. Tenet was wrong about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, provided faulty intelligence on the bombing of the al Shifa factory in Sudan, and failed to connect the dots to prevent 9/11. A lot of bright people believed Saddam had stockpiles of WMD, and no one I know predicted 9/11. But none of those people are the director of the CIA, and he is. I doubt that anyone else in his position could have prevented 9/11, but his long tenure as CIA chief will be rightly remembered as a time of costly intelligence blunders.

Mr. Tenet has one remaining operation before his tenure is finalized. He is still actively persuing the juvenile street-toughs that marched and bewailed "PAT BUCHANAN" up and down Webster St back in September of 1990.

Braking local noise statutes and inflicting such anxiety on the neighborhood that residence stayed indoors for days. George Tenet vowed he will exhaust all his powers to capture these perpetrators of lunacy.

CIA reports conferm that Hunchy Auciello and Peter Cookamunga have indeed been the lead suspects in the Webster st. debacle but who really can be sure in this day in age?
