Hell hath no fury like a talking-head scorned by the viewing public. Keith Olbermann's obsession with Bill O'Reilly, like most obsessions, is discomfiting. Olbermann regularly names O'Reilly "worst person in the world" on his show. Confirming that it's not an act, Olbermann emailed a viewer: "You 'Americans' still watching that evil f--- O'Reilly?" And this weekend, Olbermann showed up at the Television Critics Association convention wearing an O'Reilly mask and giving a Nazi salute. I can't recall Olbermann's name coming up on O'Reilly's program, and perhaps that's the point. Like Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction, Olbermann won't be ignored, Bill. Note to O'Reilly: hide your children's pets, particularly rabbits.
He truly hates O'Reilly. It isn't just an act. When I worked at MSNBC, he would go off on O'Reilly almost daily and constantly had his staff trying to think of way to make fun of him. To bad you need an audience first in order to have anyone hear your "jokes."
Thanks for the inside dope, Cajun Tiger. To quote Alice Roosevelt Longworth: "If you can’t say something good about someone, sit right here by me." This particularly applies to any self-obsessed sports-reporters-turned-tabloid/news-anchors currently employed at your former place of employment. Do tell more.
They will do anything for numbers. He's trying to boost his ratings by ranting and raving about O'Reilly, but theres just no luck in helping any kind of MSNBC program....sorry Kieth just isnt working.
I like Olberman when he was at ESPN. Since then, Keith who??
But the problem for O'Reilly is that his egomanical tendecies draw him into acknowledging Olberman (not by name) but by referencing his penchant for attcking "the Factor".
That only makes people more curious about Olberman, albeit who has a dismal 3rd place showing. I'm sure his audience is growing.
It's like the Howard Stern prank calls to Larry King and other nationally televised TV and radio shows. For close to twenty years, Larry King pretended not to know who Howard Stern was when asked point blank on air. (O'Reilly is such a potato head he can't help but give him credence by acknowledgement). See what the "Don and Mike" radio show prank callers did to other shows to boost interest in their shows. O & A infiltrated Stern from 2000 to 2002 and it paid off for them.
Olberman is still on MSNBC, but he's getting under O'Reilly's thin skin.
