I agree with what you said about the current state of conservative books. The 90's were great for conservative book lovers, but it's been hard in the last 10 years to find conservative books of any substance. Your "Why The Left Hates America" and "Intellectual Morons" were welcome exceptions. I look forward to reading your Conservative History Of The American Left.

It occurs to me that the title of the book is a clever play on words. It is conservative in the sense of conserving a past that liberals would rather forget. And it is conservative in the sense of being written from a politically conservative perspective. Did you choose the title, and is the equivocity intentional?

The title appealed to me because it is straightforward. The seven words on the cover are an apt summation of the 150,000 or so that follow. After a while those other connotations, such as conserving the history the left discards, occurred to me. Within the American Left's history of the American Left, many of the figures and movements I've chosen to highlight are politically incorrect--they are relics to be hidden in the attic rather than conversation pieces to be displayed in the living room.
