Obama's Fake Centrism

Following November's debacle, the president has announced in the Wall Street Journal a review of regulations that impede growth, compromised with Republicans on maintaining current tax rates, and delivered a measured response to the Tucson tragedy. Quietly, he's injected federally-funded end-of-life counselling into the Federal Register, imposed "net neutrality" through the FCC, and circumvented Congress's rejection of cap-and-trade through EPA regulation. As I write @ FrontPageMag, the lesson the president seems to have learned from November 2 is to loudly make symbolic gestures toward the center while quietly imposing the same left-wing agenda by any means, fair or foul, available.

End-of-life counselling in and of itself is not immoral. Forcing a patient to forego an expensive treatment is, but of course the free-market forces patients to forego treatments all the time. To my knowledge, the end-of-life counselling procedures do not coerce patients to forego any treatments; it's simply a health strategy.

One of the dirty little secrets of the Illness, Disease, and Suffering industry is that doctors oftentimes will run up the bills for those over 65, knowing full well that they'll be handsomely remunerated for their "service" (fully paid by the federal government, making them welfare cases, deadbeat freeloading scum) while the procedure offers no health benefit or life extension (and may oftentimes harm the patient, but no worries, the doctor profits and that's what matters to the scumbag market worshipers).

If per capita health care costs matched those of the next highest per capita spender in the world, the United States would immediately experience budget surpluses and not deficits. Let me repeat that one more time: if per capita health care costs matched those of the next highest per capita spender in the world, the United States would immediately experience budget surpluses and not deficits. Tell that to the idiotic, ignorant, scumbag deficit hawks who argue for cutting SS (when SS isn't even part of the general budget--it is funded separately through payroll taxes or FICA--further demonstrating the idiocy and ignorance of the right).

Don't be confused. PMA's assertion is no longer true in any sense. We spend less than $1,000 per capita more than Luxemburg on medical care. So if we gave all that "extra" money to the government (who will use it to propagandize us even more) instead of to our physicians (who will give us the best care in the world and likely prolong our life a few years despite our chosen lifestyles) the Federal deficit would go down less than 300 billion dollars at best. The Obama induced deficit last year was 1.4 trillion and it is expected to be about that again.

Obama is the epitome of the pragmatic Marxist. He will push the envelope left as far as he is allowed to but as soon as there is any resistance, will back off and appear conciliatory and essentially make it appear that he has moved to the center.

Make no mistake about it - he has in no way moved to the center. He's a soulless agenda driven prevaricator who will wait for his opportunities to open up again.

Let's hope he is rendered more impotent by those who would justifiably oppose him because the future of our country and generations to come is at stake.

Problem is, as POTUS he can still continue to chip away at the country he hates and the people he despises.

If Obamacare is so wonderful and viable, how is it that hundreds of his favorite hand picked businesses have been allowed to opt out? And why would they want to if it were so great? Hmmm?

A 2000 page odious monstrosity that those who came up with it haven’t read or understood that will raise costs, degrade care, increase taxes, put 1/6th of the U.S. economy in the hands of politicians and bureaucrats, most of whom have not managed or produced anything, and has to be forced on the American people. Beeautiful!

And it's comical that those who demonized businesses and work the class warfare ploy has no problem picking and choosing who their friends are in big business. Apparently, as long as you’re Government Motors or Government Electric, you can be a corporate pig and it's acceptable to these leftist hypocrites.

More jobs for Mexico and China I suppose.

And a statement made yesterday by the Fraud in Chief was a classic - “We're going back to Thomas Edison's principle,”. Really. I guess that's why his government is making Edison’s greatest invention, the incandescent light bulb, illegal? But it works when the Corruptocrats are working to close plants here that make the incandescent so we can open plants and buy CFLs from China.
