Unearthed tapes of Jacqueline Kennedy reveal a rift between the first families of sixties liberalism. The former First Lady labelled Martin Luther King as a "terrible sex pest," among other unflattering descriptives. But the media isn't exploring Jackie O's accusations, or blaming her for slandering an iconic figure. Read my piece @ FrontPageMag to see how, once again, J. Edgar Hoover made them do it.
At the risk (again!) of drawing the ever popular 'R' word when one comments on or disagrees with a person of color, MLK was not the hero and unwavering Civil Right icon that he's been advertised as and memorialized to be. By all accounts, he was a sleazy cheater. But, then again, so was JFK.
It seems also believable to me that Hoover could have manipulated Presidents. Especially Presidents as flawed as Kennedy and Johnson. The obligatory 8X10 glossies, don't you know.
What I'd love to find out as a fact is if there is any investigatory documentation that confirms how an ever angry and corrupt Johnson was tied into the Kennedy assassination. Just askin'.
