
Whitey Bulger's miraculous streak of staying ahead of his pursuers wasn't an act of God. It was an act of government. With bribed law enforcement, a speak truth suck-up-to-power press, and his brother effectively running the state government, the Boston mobster executed a one-man crime wave with impunity for decades.
