Something about two cute thirteen-year-old twins wearing Hitler t-shirts weirds me out. I sense I'm not the only one disturbed by the arresting image of Prussian Blue, a faux-Olsen Twins white-supremacist music act, that the Drudge Report is highlighting. Something tells me that they're not going to be the next Supremes--but they probably don't care for the Supremes anyhow. "Songs like 'Sacrifice'—a tribute to Nazi Rudolf Hess, Hitler's deputy Fuhrer—clearly show the effect of the girls' upbringing," notes the ABC.com article about the pair. "The lyrics praise Hess as a man of peace who wouldn't give up.'" What??? Ugliness occassionally comes in pretty packages.

I saw that piece. I have to admit the Hitler happy face t-shirts they are sporting are so ridiculous that it actually cracked me up at first. It takes a second for what those shirts are to sink in I think, talk about postmodernist or "pop" art! I wonder if that smiley-face Hitler is how he looked right before he blew his brains out in that bunker?

One thing I have never much understood about racist white nationalists is why they like to fashion themselves after the Nazis. Yes, yes, I know the nazis made a "science" out of hating non-whites (or non-aryans to be specific since they killed more Jewish Slavs and Poles than anyone else) but they were also a clear failure and an unmitigated disaster to their native lands. There is just something so very pathetic and ineffectual about people who still fancy themselves Nazis or even Communists that I have to agree with the NAACP spokesman quoted in the piece, that this story is more sad than scary.

I find Prussian Blue rather alarming and quite disturbing. That being said, I did a quick search on the web to see if Ted Shaw, "civil rights advocate and president of the NAACP's Legal Defense Fund", quoted in the ABC.com article, had any comments on the hate-filled, kill-whitey speech given by Kamau Kambon on October 14th.

Curiously (or not surprisingly, depending how you look at it!), I could find none! So, if anyone out there knows Mr. Shaw, how come?

I take your larger point about possible hypocrisy of professional complainers Thom, but if I had to guess it may be because no reporter contacted him to ask his opinion for an ABC story on Kambon's speech. I assume his opinion only appears in this story on these Nazi pop singers (volk singers?) b/c he was contacted directly about it.

I'm sure they had to search far an wide to find a black person to provide quotes denouncing these two.

Really though, does anybody really think that these kinds of people and their racial and political philosophies present a threat? They are small potatoes and it strikes me funny at the 'alarm' and the hand wringing that comes from people when they hear stories like this.

What is most curious (or again, not surprising depending on your view point) is that the Kambon story never really MADE any MSM news pages or broadcasts, and not a single responsible (or irresponsible) leader of either major political party or the Black Community (whatever that is) has condemned his comments.

As for ASDF's comments, I agree with you in that if the media, in their never-ending thirst for stories and ratings, didn't grant them their original 15 minutes of fame, and then draw it out past all reasonable expectations of notoriety (see Sheehan, Cindy), we would never half to experience/suffer any familiarity with most of these wackos in the first place.

The mother of these children is obviously a complete wackjob. There is no doubt she's twisted and should be on some serious meds. I understand she is the girls lyricist. Her songs are outrageous and offensive. With songs like "Giggle with Goebbels" & "House painter Polka" she should be smacked in the mouth.

Think people ought to get a grip on their alarm and outrage with regards to two little girls singing about a group of people who have been dead for a long time and a racial and political philosophy that is not that much of an overall threat.

I think the MSM may ignore racism issuing from blacks because of generally lower expectations than the media have of whites. It's kind of like a friend who always gets drunk at your parties, spills drinks, and falls into the food. Ignoring it implies that your friend always does that and you don't expect any better. The MSM pays attention to white racism because whites are supposed to be better than that, but perhaps they think blacks just can't help but be racist.

I'm not sure what you mean by "too far right", but I'm tired of people identifying Nazis with "The Right". Hitler was a socialist, and seems to me to have had quite a bit more in common with today's left (not to compare the left to Nazis, though), than with the right. But anytime there is some despicable creature in the world, he's immediately identified with the "right". Example would be how Osama's religious conservatism is the cause of all evil in the world.

Watch Hitler's labor speeches in "Triumph of the Will" and tell me he sounds more like a "conservative" than a Euro-socialist.
