It is really refreshing to see someone like the Ultimate Warrior speak out against Bill Clinton and his refusal to accept responsibility for his morally offencive acts. To have the Ultimate Warrior bring up the fact that he was supposed to be a role model for the country was certainly eye opening.

After all, we have so many failed role models in this country. I can still remember how disapointed I was, for example, when I found out a certain hero wrestler, a man cheered for his tremendous phisique and speeches about the Warrior way of life, owed his tremendous phisique to the habitual use of illegal and physically hazerdous steroids.

I think it is wonderfull to hear the Warrior talk about taking responsibility for one's actions as he recounts his hours in the weight room and completely ignores the fact that he was so well known as a user of these illicit drugs that he came to be known in his workplace as "The Anabolic Warrior".

Mostly, though, it's good to see that any failed role model can be born again, publicity wise, by fading out of the spotlight for enough years for everyone to forget their earlier antics and return to spout their bigoted, homophobic, and fascitic viewpoints to an audience so eager for any anti-left propoganda that even he can be viewed as something other than a disgrace.

The comments from Jeffa were uncalled for and in poor taste. The interview Mr. Flynn conducted with the Warrior was a solid read and also very informative.

Jeffa is probably some bum who still lives at home with his parents and watches the WWE every night it comes on and visits pro wrestling websites with the zeal of five year old boy.

Keep up the good work Mr. Flynn, as I can't wait until the release of your new book. Warrior, looking forward to your book as well.

I think this was a very good interview. Warrior talks about giving speeches. Where can I find out where to go hear him?

Thanks for the kind words, Brandon. You can go to www.yaf.org and peruse their calander of lectures. Since Warrior speaks mostly on college campuses, the calander may not be too full until the fall. Visiting Warrior's website, www.ultimatewarrior.com, is another option. Come back to FlynnFiles for part two of the interview tomorrow.

While I'm still a wrestling fan (always will be) I do enjoy hearing Warrior talk about the days when he wrestled. However I don't care for his right wing views (as he preaches about all around the country) and don't care for the way he puts down what made him famous. He talks bad about the reason he's able to do what he does now, as no one would wanna hear a guy who legally changed his name to 'The Warrior' babel on about what's wrong with everyone and the country rather then himself.

Frequent as it happens, it stills gives me those tiny, giggly goosebumps when one of my shed groin hairs (Jeffa and like-ilk swinging limp-wristed accusations from the anonymity of the interent) shows back up revealing intimacies, well, intimacies only a close and personal groin hair would know.

Proof is never a prerequite for you leftists. Just saying the words, filtered through your toxic utopian hallucinations, makes it so. Oh, the fantasies you leftists conjure...you called Reagan a dunce and he wasn't; you call your own hero Clinton a smart, intellectual man and he's not; calling me a homophobe, drug abuser, loser at life and on and on just doesn't, not sorry to tell you this, make it so.

I welcome proof. Bring forward your credible witnesses -- the carcasses of overdosed dead druggies, the WWE sycophants getting their bread and butter and breath up Vince's arse, the flamethrowing queers ruining the world my kids have to grow up in, and all the other jealous, burntout and bitter losing-a-grip-at-handling-life vagabonds and miscreants.

The place for your kind is back upon the urinal from which thou wandered.

Shoo! I don't have time to act a flyswatter.

Warrior: Jeffa is what is known as a 'troll' on the internet, which is simply a person who goes around making incendiary comments in an attempt to illicit an emotional response. It is generally a waste of time and energy to even try to have an intelligent conversation or debate with these people, because that is not what they want. They only want to get under your skin in an attempt to make you say something that would reflect poorly on you. Trolls are safe to ignore...this is what they dislike the most.

I have never been to this site, I haven't had much of a chance to look around yet but it has caught my interest. Like a lot of other people I followed the link from Warrior's site. To say that I'm anxiously awaiting the book would be a HUGE understatement :)

I'm not at all embarrassed or ashamed to say that as a 31 year old male, Warrior is my role model. He sets the standard which I strive to live up to myself, and I think its a lofty, yet attainable goal. Here is a man who has achieved a state of physical superiority that most of us have a hard time even believing is possible. I can only imagine the commitment and dedication that it takes to reach that level of physical perfection. And then, he re-focuses his energy and re-directs his life in a totally different direction, not hearing and not caring about all of those (and there are many) who want, wish, and expect him to fail. It takes a great amount of courage and belief in one's self to make such a bold move.

Its a testament to his conviction that he has struck out in this new direction, determined to succeed. 99% of the people in his situation would take the easy way, they would cave in to the pressures of the outside world and do what is quick and easy. In other words 99% of the people in his situation would be planting their lips firmly on Vince McMahon's ass in order to secure the financial rewards that come from being a top superstar.

Make no doubts about it, Ultimate Warrior WAS and could easily once again be one of the top superstars in WWE. If he wanted to get back in the ring he could make millions of dollars, have all of the fame and celebrity anybody could ever want. He could work for a couple of years and be set for life, easily. Part of me would LOVE to hear that music, see him run down to the ring, knock the crap out of someone before lifting them up over his head and slamming them, then hitting the splash and the 1-2-3. But another part of me would be disappointed (deeply) if he did do that, because he would be 'selling out' in the ultimate way.

He gave up all of these things to set an example for others to follow, to make a lasting impression on minds, and to inspire the hearts of thinking people all around the world. Warrior lives his life in such a way as to teach us all that we CAN. We CAN succeed, we CAN be great, we CAN achieve, and the ONLY thing that keeps us from the success and happiness we all want is ourselves. Our lack of self discipline, lack of commitment, lack of belief, and so on.

When I was younger Warrior was my hero because he was the ultimate wrestler, nobody looked as good, nobody had a tenth of his intensity, and NOBODY could stop him. Not even Hulk Hogan, which at the time beating Hulk Hogan seemed totally impossible.

Now he's my role model because of his commitment, his belief in himself, his enormous self discipline, his willingness to say that which is unpopular but NEEDS to be said! He makes no excuses, no apologies, and holds himself to a seemingly impossibly high standard. But he shows us all, it IS possible.

And I thank you for that Warrior, for showing us all that we really do have the potential to do great things, and to be outstanding citizens, and to not accept mediocrity or complacency in ourselves or others. My admiration and respect for you are enormous.

What a liberal he is, that Jeffa the jackass. He probably is a jobless weed smoker who sits at home and plays with his Hulk Hogan dolls. He is probably one of the jackasses protesting during President Reagan's funeral. Another young drug user, too young to even know President Reagan, not knowing what he is even protesting about! "Protesting is cool, dude! Peace! Huh, huh!"

Many people hate great men (Ultimate Warrior, Ronald Reagan, etc.). It makes them look at themselves, and they don't like what they see.

To the poster calling himself Warrior: Ha ha, that was some funny stuff. Good job.

Posted by honky tonk man at June 17, 2004 09:40 AM

Honky Tonk Man,

The poster calling himself Warrior is Warrior. Are you the real Honky Tonk Man, or just paying tribute to the Honky Tonk Man?

Posted by Dan Flynn at June 17, 2004 11:04 AM

Dan Flynn,
No, I am definitely not the real Honky Tonk Man! I thought that the "Warrior" comment above was a parody of Mr. Hellwig/Warrior's loquacious, self-aggrandizing writing style. If that really is the real Warrior writing, well, then it confirms that he needs an editor!

I really enjoyed the interview, though, and appreciated much of Warrior's thoughts.

Dan: Great interview with Warrior. I know him as a great guy, fellow conservative, & friend.

Good to see his conservative views are "ruffling a few feathers". It seems a few of your guests are having to re-think their positions regarding what makes our Republic so great. Jeffa, for example, sounds like a "stay-at-home" mamma's boy. He probably drives laps around the local McDonald's on Friday nights to get a date.

Keep up the great work!

I find it amusing that the warrior claims there is no proof of his homophobia, yet provides it himself "flamethrowing queers ruining the world my kids have to grow up in.." That's proof in and of itself.

As for acusations of facism, evidince, albeit not proof can be found at www.ultimatewarrior.com. The "simplified dictionary linguistics" is a classic facist tactic (ala Orwell's Newspeak in "1984"). So's the absolutist mentality. We've also seen the advocacy of the use of unlawful violence for conservative ends on the Warrior's website.

The bigoted accusation is pretty much supported by the Warriors on comments (see Warrior's homophobic post above).

As for steroids, big deal. Steroids are given a much worse rap that they deserve. In any case, I can prove beyond a doubt that the Warrior has taken steroids. Cholesterol is a steroid, and anyone who has eaten a dairy or meat product has eaten it. There are steroids in plants (that largly have no effect on us). Pedantry aside, as long as the user isn't placing a burden on society (health care, inspiring dangerous behaviour) does it really matter?

As for the allegations made by the warrior that the leftists posting on this website, I'm one of them (albeit my first time). I've done public speaking myself for my Union, much more so than posting anonymously on the net. As for cowardly, lets see the warrior put up a messageboard on his website so his theories can stand trial by debate, not captive audience.
