Barack Obama, Nobel Peace Prize Winner

It is perhaps fitting that Barack Obama wins a "peace prize" honoring the inventor of dynamite. The current president commands armies waging war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Though George W. Bush's partisans might have labelled these fights "savage wars of peace," it is remarkable that Obama's international fan club now believes this, or believes he is in the midst of ending these wars, or believes he is closing Guantanamo Bay. Is this the consolation prize for not getting the Olymics? Given that recent recipients have included Al Gore, Yasser Arafat, and Rigoberta Menchu, one wonders whether the award honors its recipients or its recipients discredit the award.

Rahm Emmanuel and Wall Street elites probably threatened the lives of the committee members and their families after promising a Chicago Olympics and being unable to deliver. I'm not joking.

Under Barack Obama we have seen the exponential expansion of Russian, Chinese, Venezuelan, and Iranian power and influence. Perhaps the award is designed to reward those who have done the most to aid the interests of Communists, their allies, and America's enemies. This may be why he won the award.

America's enemies are thriving like at no time since some time prior to WWII. Rightly or wrongly he is viewed as part of the reason for their success.

Dan,

What is the point behind your post? I read cynicism, but I am still searching for your thesis, lost in conflicting sentences.

Is Obama's "fanclub" believing he is fighting just wars or do they believe he is ending those wars? How can it be both at the same time, or is this a generalization that they merely defend United States policy because Obama is at the helm?

Obama would be the first one to agree that he does not deserve the award. In fact, he said so publicly. Today.

If your point is that the award is "diluted" in potency when it is given to the wrong people, I think that is a valid argument, but highly subjective, just like the award.

Even the scientific awards are quite political. I expect your answer to be biased, but I also expect a valid reason, other than you don't like the guy.

Perhaps you can explain those people in your blacklist? What is Al Gore's "unworthiness", since you cite him as evidence as the award is corrupt?

My question is in good faith.

All of us should pray that Obama's unjust enrichment won't give him the political capital to get his agenda passed into law. I'm absolutely serious about this. His winning this completely undeserved prize might give him enough clout to win political victories that will irreparably harm our country. It is absolutely true that his prize is undeserved, but it is also true that many will regard him more favorably because he won the prize. A lot of people just don't get what a travesty this was--and that ignorance could boost his agenda, at our country's expense.

If that sounds unrealistic because it's so incredibly obvious to us what a joke this is, just compare the effect that Chappaquiddick should've had on Ted Kennedy's career, to the effect it actually did have on his career. We do not live in a sane world.

The real hero is always a hero by mistake; he dreams of being an honest coward like everybody else.

James,

I think the second sentence explains why Dan objects to Obama winning the award.

The Nobel Peace Prize is largely a prop for whomever the committee wishes to support. Here it may simply be anti-Bush, in which case the award should have gone to the US electorate. I for one lose sleep over what the Norwegians' critique of our foreign policy.

.....in other news President Obama was just named Cattle Queen of Montana and the Grand Poohba of the Moose Lodge of Porkbelly Kentucky.
More awards to follow......

The NPP seems to be a pre-requisite to legitimizing frauds. Jimmy Carter, Paul Krugman, Al Gore, Barack Obama, etc. - all liberal phonies who were somehow taken more seriously for receiving an award that used to actually mean something.

I concur with Alan that the winning of this 'honor light' will in the minds of many who do not think things through provide this very dangerous person the creds. to push his destructive socialist and fascist agendas.

But, again, it all seems to going according to plan and is certainly making it easier for those on the Planet who would love to watch the United States disintegrate have it be so.

You all are missing the main story here. Barak is only a pawn! What about the five supreme alien beings who are arranging his ascent to emperor of earth!....
Thorborn Jagland
Kaci Kullmann Five
Sissel Ronbeck
Inger Ytterhorn
Agot Valle

Does anyone know who these beings are?! Where they're from? Did they know Spok when he was a kid? What are their plans for our planet? Please if they silence me (or wipe my memory), you must keep asking these questions?!!

You are right about that. Barack Hussein Obama is a pawn and is a creation of secretive moneymen and their media.

To think that a person with such a clandestine background, a thin resume and who has accomplished nothing could have been catapulted to the heights of world power and continues to get accolades for doing nothing but making mistakes and taking positions contrary to our national interests should give us all pause that corruption and political collusion is afoot.

He will continue to be touted as someone more successful and more important than he is by those who would use him to really ‘Change’ the country and the world.

oops, we meant to give him the Negro, Please! prize.
