"Paul Krugman, Nobel Prize winner." It strikes the ears like "Sid Bream, MVP" or "the Academy Award-winning Porky's." A Nobel Prize is supposed to honor its recipient. Leftist hack newspaper columnist Paul Krugman's Nobel Prize in economics dishonors the award. It is perhaps appropriate that Krugman praised the United Kingdom's bank nationalization in his column on the day he won a prize established by the state-run Bank of Sweden. Hayek, Friedman....Krugman? C'mon. Who do you guys think you're kidding?
Al Gore got one. That seemed to confirm that the bar has been lowered. Who next, Ben and Jerry?
Dan you're right. They were kidding. The award really goes to Bill Kristol or Sean Hannity.
That would almost be the mirror image of what they've actually done, wouldn't it RC?
An interesting and perhaps true statement by Krugman in that article:
"All across the executive branch, knowledgeable professionals have been driven out. . ."
Anywho, Dan, I feel as though Krugman's leftist ideals are clouding how accomplished of an economist he is, to you anyway.
Cherry Garcia IS a really good ice cream.
Dan
Is Krugman a partisan hack like Kristol or Hannity?
I guess it must be true - Conservatives see everyone who isn't conservative as liberal. That isn't how it is.
Krugman an accomplished economist? You are kidding right?
I suppose that would be accurate RC. I would venture to say the obvious that those who aren't conservative are liberal.
But although there have always been liberals I find that these days that you don’t find many common sense moderate liberals (in the libertarian sense of the word). From what I’ve observed over the last year or so is that the term “liberal” means very or extremely left of center.
Even those of my liberal friends have left their brains at the door and are now beyond explaining how higher taxes, less national defense, identity politics, voting for radical candidates, etc. helps them or this country. I just get Bush $uck$.
Well, we know that. But they and many others seem to be willing to take a chance, not based on moderate liberalism, but on radical far left liberalism.
Believe it or not, Krugman does work in the field of economics outside of his columns in the Times.
