Ivy League Ahmadinejad

Eight years ago, Columbia University kicked off campus a conference I had organized featuring John Leo, Dinesh D'Souza, Reginald Jones, and Ward Connerly. Their reason for violating a contract? They said they couldn't guarantee our safety. We had to hold the event outside in an alcove overlooking Morningside Park while protestors shouted down speakers. Today comes word that Columbia University has invited Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to speak. Something tells me the university community will treat the leader of a terrorist state more courteously than they treated conservatives.

Sure. Why wouldn't Columbia want to host the most dangerous anti-Semite since Hitler? I wonder if the Women's Studies department will have him teach a few classes.

They'll roll out the red carpet for him and shower him with rose petals I'm sure. I cant even pronounce his last name. Kinda reminds me of the guy Samir on the movie Office Space. "No one in this country can ever pronounce my name right. It's not that hard: Samir Na-gheen-an-a-jar. Nagheenanajar."

I wonder if the University of Tehran or another major Iranian university will return the favor and ivite George W. Bush to speak or better yet they could invite Joe Lieberman to speak. Somehow I doubt that is going to happen. As long as people like Amadinejad are allowed to roam freely in the US, the whole GWOT is a joke and a sick one at that.

They must have huge donations from the oily part of the world to be so overtly anti-semitic in New York City. I hope the rest of their donor base takes note.

I am sure he will get treated better than a conservative group will, but I can understand Columbia wanting a big controversial name like that to speak there. There will be protesters certainly w/ the very well organized Jewish presence on campus. That is as you would expect for a college campus and what is pathetic was the clear discrimination your group faced by Columbia not that they would have a big-time leader of a country much in the news now speak there.

Ralph: "Most dangerous anti-Semite since Hitler," sure, let's jump right into the reductio ad Hitlerum.

Iran should be approached diplomatically, there is no good reason for all this war clamor and hysteria about that country. Ahmadenijad's public letter to the Pres. was reasonable, and all the evidence clearly indicates that they do not seek war w/ us.

Other than the fact that they are actively at war with us? Half the Iraqi Insurgency answers to Teheran

One possible reason Dan got the shaft is he wants to have a resonable dialog on important issues. Can't have none of that! A lot of what I hear coming from our college campuses these days is Monologue. And bad Monologue at that.
