Pat Robertson suggests that God may have struck Ariel Sharon down. I'm not sure if God took special interest in Ariel Sharon. I do know that Sharon is 77-years old, overweight, holds a stressful job, and has recently suffered from a series of health problems. Might any of these factors have played a larger role in Sharon's grim state than God's wrath?
I always wanted to see Marlon Brando play the elder Sharon in a biopic. Darn. (At least that's not as far out there as Robertson.)
Sounds darwinian to me Dan. Has the teaching of evolution claimed another soul?
I'm afraid Pat's elevator has ceased servicing all his floors! While God certainly has the power and prerogitive to strike down anyone he chooses, I think the Reverend Robertson needs to remember that "there are none righteous; no not one", and that "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God".
I also searched Scripture for any verse that states or intimates that any Israeli Prime Minister giving up a piece of the Gaza Strip shall be smitten; I'm coming up goose eggs. Don't get me wrong; I firmly believe in salvation through Christ alone; I just don't think Pat's dealing from a full deck anymore. "It is appointed unto man once to die, and then the judgement"; it's simply Mr. Sharon's time.
Agreed. Pat Robertson has lost it.
Unfortunately, for the left, he is the representative head of the religious right (whatever that is) for conservatives / republicans.
Even though most C/R's would distance themselves from him.
The real reason he had the stroke was that he had just finished watching Brokeback Mountain. He realized that the movie made him feel different...and then his head exploded.
Maybe God meant to strike down Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and missed.
Pat Robertson is an idiot. I can't think of less Christ-like "Christian."
