The military rescued three "peacemakers" kidnapped in Iraq. But the response by Christian Peacemaker Teams, the group the three captives belonged to, curiously mentions their "release" but not their rescue. They claim the peace activists' "only protection was in the power of the love of God and of their Iraqi and international co-workers." In reality, their protection came from the U.S. military. Though the group notes "the gracious outpouring of support from Muslim brothers and sisters," they don't bother to thank the soldiers who liberated them.
I wonder if the soldiers had to drag them kicking and screaming to safety. If any more people from this group get kidnapped we shouldn't bother wasting resources to save them.
Apparently, the Christian Peacemaker Teams don't believe in peace (or rescue) through superior fire power.
Funny thing is the same peaceniks that are essentially protesting our military presence in Iraq are the same who are protected and, in this case, rescued by one of the those groups they're protesting.
Wonder how long their rights to peace protest would last under Al Qaeda, Taliban or Saddam's regime?
You have to wonder when your organization's statement is SO VERY similar to the terrorist "news" account of the situation. See this page from Al Manar (the terrorist organization Hizbollah's news outlet), which says they were "found" west of Baghdad and no one will say how they were freed.

To quote one Mr. Hall, kinda makes you go "hmmmm".
Well, we can always return them to their kidnappers. Think they'll take them back for some monetary considerations?
I would put it instead: "In reality, their protection came from God through the means of the U.S. military."
But you are certainly correct in the fact that it is the height of ingratitude - to both the military and to our mericful Lord - to not acknowledge those brave soldiers that delivered them from captivity. And what kind of ingrates would further spit in the eyes of their liberators by thanking "their Iraqi and international co-workers" instead?
News accounts I read said they were not guarded when the troops got to them. So, how long and often were they not guarded? Other news reports now being floated say the American who was with them may have been tortured and murdered after an escape attempt. What do these three know about that?
Is it possible the four of them were taken mainly to get the American and that these three could have left when they wanted?
The last I heard was these three were still "processing" their "rescue" and had no comment on the fact that the military they dislike did the rescuing. But their organization had no difficulty "processing" a statement saying the "kidnapping" would neve rhave happened had the USA not illegally invaded Iraq.
It is crystal clear where their sympathies lie. If there is a next time for this group, I'd let them rot wherever they were stashed before I'd order troops in to rescue them again.
Hope they aren't to upset when on the way home they are accidently dropped back off in the middle of Fallujah!
The U.S. government should slap those dipshits with a bill for services rendered. Think of the manpower, intelligence, and fuel resources that were wasted on those ingrates. *uck 'em all.
Jill Carroll has finally been released. Is it me, or does anybody else think that this liberal product of UMass might have been complicit and in line with her (alleged?) kidnappers?
Few demands were met and when it was clear that we would not be willing to give up the farm for her, she was let go without much fanfare.
