My apologies for not reporting the winner of last week's non-monetary NFL pool, and for not posting week two's games. I have been extremely busy with book promotion, work, and the blog--where we've had some technical difficulties if you haven't noticed. Be prepared for week three, as I will post my NFL picks on Thursday night. Additionally, if you know who won week one's pool, please speak up in the comments section and I will verify. For week three, you will get no credit if you pick the New Jersey Generals, Shreveport Steamer, Colorado Crush, or Barcelona Dragons, as these are not proper NFL teams.
Patriots again showed why they've won two SB's in three years.
Shaky start, but (as with the Yanks), they rise to the occasion to win.
Meanwhile, as a Bledsoe fan in a previous life, I had mixed thoughts about this weekend: felt bad for Drew and Buffalo; but very happy B-chick stuck by his guns and kept Brady.
Guess that's why they do what they do and we do what we do.
After a great first year in Buffalo, Bledsoe looks like he's done. Maybe a change in location would do him good.
Anyhow, I did get a chance to see "Stuck on You" based on your recommendation. I liked it a lot. I was dissapointed that Cam Neely's Sea Bass didn't make another cameo drinking some Boilermakers, but I did like the Asian girlfriend character and Cher playing a caricature of Cher.
Yep. Poor Drew. Prototype QB; great mechanics; cannon for an arm; and all around good guy. But unlike Brady, he will never take what a defense wants to give him. Has to go for the glory (read: forced pass) play. Typically leading to no points on the board.
After last year’s 31-0 drubbing in Buffalo, the Pats are going to go in and rip them a new one. Of course, the Pats did return the favor later in the season.
I’m glad you enjoyed Stuck on You. For some reason, this movie did not sit well with the general public. Maybe it was perceived as crossing the line of good taste (and when have the Farrelly’s ever worried about that?) and not being sensitive to a horrible and grotesque disability?
Regardless, I thought the Farrelly's did well to make this a movie about triumph and added a very humorous mature theme in the process. This was a very positive and light offering.
I thought Kinnear did an outstanding job and had excellent comic timing. The emphasis on the two brothers, even though physically attached, as two distinct individuals was well done.
Kinnear as the ladies man and Damon as the shy one led to some very funny sequences.
