You have heard artists and musicians boasting of "speaking truth to power"? Well, yesterday provided plenty of examples of such self-righteous people sucking up to power. The most groveling sycophant at Obama's second inauguration proved to be Alicia Keys, who retitled one of her songs Obama's on Fire, saying approvingly of the first couple "together they run the world." Imagine if a pop musician had sung such a worshipful song about George W. Bush at his inauguration. We'd immediately recognize the propaganda jingle as creepy, uncool, and career-killing. But when pop stars serenade Democratic politicians, we pretend not to notice how their act debases their standing as "artist," a term whose whose self-application inversely correlates to the insecurity of the entertainers wrapping themselves in it. Beyonce lip-synching the Star-Spangled Banner proved less embarrassing than Keys' sniveling self-abasement.

Katy Perry in the latex "Forward" mini-dress says everything you need to know about the complete and utter collapse of culture and civilization.

What's wrong with that, comrade?

Funny how you omit how the homegrown terrorist and icon of the radical right Ted Nugent is so vocal about his right wing agenda. Or his recent asinine statement that gun owners are like Rosa Parks. Can you get any more tool bag?

What a f@cking degenerate, yet you'd rather align with ignorant cavemen like that.

And he was downright Nevillian in his foreign policy boast of "peace in our time".

More bowing and appeasement on the horizon. A weaker America and a more dangerous world.

Ask yourself the question, "Is the Pentagon budget better off than it was four years ago?" The answer to that question indicates whether or not the American Empire plans on bowing and appeasing.

Right on the money. And Hagel will drive the spike through the heart of our national and international defense.

All of Obama's proposed appointments point to retreat and appeasement. Hagel, Brennan, Kerry.

Obama does not want to get his hands dirty abroad if he can help it and would rather ruin this country from within by spending money we don't have domestically while covering his ears and singing when, inevitably, the rest of the world fears us not and starts knocking down our walls.

Whither the artists and entertainers who thought it was hip and edgy to embrace a counterculture, anti-authoritarian mentality and leak it into our homes via their various media? Now we have a full-time Ministry of Love cranking out agitprop 24/7.
