My favorite radio station went off the air in 2012. So much good music seems to have gone with it. Nevertheless, just like in 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, and 2004, I have found ten songs better than the rest for 2012.
10. Somebody I Used To Know, Gotye
9. I Will Wait, Mumford & Sons
8. Hollywood Forever Cemetary Sings, Father John Misty
7. Baby Gets Worse, Divine Fits
6. Hold On, Alabama Shakes
5. Simple Song, Shins
4. Shake It Out, Florence + the Machine
3. Ho Hey, Lumineers
2. Miss Atomic Bomb, The Killers
1. We Are Young, fun.
Did I miss some good tunes? Do you have your own top ten? Top three? Share in the comments section.
Not that it really matters and I’m certainly not a music expert, but the only band I’ve heard of on this list is Mumford & Sons and only because I have ready about them here. I can’t imagine that by accident one would not recognize or identify with at least one of ten bands and at least one of their “hits”. No sure what that says. Either about today’s music or today’s listener.
Almost saw Father John Misty in Detroit last Oct. Bummed I didn't make it out.
The Goyte song is an abomination. It ranks below We built this City as the worst song of all time.
Where is Five Finger Death Punch on that list? Should be at the top Dan!!!
