What's on Your Ipod?

I don't have an iPod, or even a Walkman for that matter. A few years ago, somebody stole my iRiver at the gym. It's more complicated than that. I carelessly left it at the treadmill. A member turned it in. When I gleefully went to retrieve it, thinking that I had dodged a bullet, one of the trainer's admitted that the device had been stolen from behind the front desk. Booyah! If I did own an iPod, the choice tunes below are what I would be playing. In particular, Ryan Adams's Crossed-Out Name, which, in a fit of insanity, I listened to more than twenty times one day last week. Here's what I'll be listening to this weekend:

Ryan Adams--Crossed Out Name
Kings of Leon--Fans
Belle and Sebastian--Expectations
Arcade Fire--No Cars Go
The English Beat--Save It for Later

What will you be listening to this weekend?

I got an iPod Touch for Christmas, and it has changed my life.

I'm not as up on the current music scene as Dan, so my top five songs are a mix of the 70s and 90s:

Nirvana - Where Did You Sleep Last Night

Toadies - Possum Kingdom

Led Zeppelin - Babe I'm Gonna Leave You

Tool - Schism

The BeatlesI'm Only Sleeping

I should have said 60s, 70s and 90s - Revolver was released in 66.

Various albums I've been listening too lately:

Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass

Atmosphere - When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Sh*t Gold

Franz Ferdinand - You Could Have It So Much Better

The Cool Kids - The Bake Sale EP

I just did an interesting exercise related to the playlist on my iPod. You might want to try it too. Soundtrack of My Life: http://www.trommetter.com/log/archives/2009/02/03/soundtrack-of-my-life/

180,000 jobs lost in the last three months. You have to remember the depression to understand what that means. While the president is seriously trying to dig his way out from under this pile of crap that the previous administration dumped on him, no doubt with much relief, the Rs continue to parrot what got us here in the first place.
I suggest, "Brother Can You Spare A Dime?"

Tom Waits - What's he building in there?

Percy Faith - Theme from a Summer Place

The Beatles - Helter Skelter

Quiet Riot - The Wild and the Young

The Buffalo Bills - Shut the Door

Those numbers don't seem to work.

By Nancy Pelosi math, we're losing 500 million jobs a month. This is a woman two heart attacks away from leading the country. Very scary.

Meanwhile, with an accurate sense of economic doom with the election of her boss, companies have been correctly bracing for hard times by trimming their staffs knowing that an Obama Presidency is going to kill the economy and make doing business more difficult.

This is change we can believe in!

I still don't have an IPod, but about a year ago I joined ITunes and have purchased 6 tunes. They are:

Jay Ferguson- Thunder Island
The Hit Crew-Mighty Mouse Theme Song
Ian Hunter- Guiding Light
Mott The Hoople- Death May Be Your Santa Claus
The Band-Unfaithful Servant
The Eels- I Like Birds

Babydoc: I was under the impression that Mott the Hoople/Ian Hunter was a one-hit wonder with the Bowie-penned "All the Young Dudes." I will have to explore your recommendations. BTW: I am listening to Oasis, "Acquiesce" (live) right now.

I've had Rachmaninoff in the stereo for a few days now. I think I'll keep him there.
