Roman Polanksi says justice has been served. But the famed director never served his sentence for the rape of a thirteen-year-old girl, whom he had fed qualudes and champagne to before he had sex with her. Defendants don't get to determine whether justice has been served or not. If they did, most would probably skip out on their sentences like Mr. Polanksi. The filmmaker's defenders continue to invoke "32 years," as if the key number in the case revolved around the amount of time Polanski has evaded justice. The only relevant number here is "13."
32 years? Like this guy was not living the highlife elite lifestyle in his self-chosen flight from the law? If there’s any justice left in the Halls, this scumbag will do real time. And that doesn’t include living free in and navigating Europe’s high society while raising a family on the lam.
And to hear these Hollywood phonies defending him makes me sick. The more they open their mouths the more disinterested in them I become.
Come on, Dan. He was living in exile. How much more can you expect of him? Don't you feel his pain? He anguished over the whole episode for 32 years. Are you inhuman?
Or maybe he led the high life of a rich man in France on cheese, wine, and stupid women. Yeah, I'm going with this. Sentence him and let him take his medicine, albeit 32 years late. Loved Chinatown, but that doesn't get him a pass on child rape, even if the 13-year-old may have been less than savory.
Imagine "John Smith" drugs and rapes a 13 y/o-flees and has his relatives plea for his exhoneration. Sure, he would be lifted up- right into the clinker. It never fails to amaze me when Hollywood leftists utilize such tactics and they proclaim they are for the "little man".
The scariest and most illuminating thing to come out of this is the reaction of people in show business.
If there was ever one thing we could ALL be in agreement on it's that drugging and raping a 13 year old girl is a despicable act and the person should be rightly punished. Well I was wrong.
Those in Hollywood and other's in the entertainment industry around the world are jumping to this monster's defense. Not everyone is speaking up of course I've no doubt, (and hope) that most are against Polanski and are simply afraid to speak out. Imagine a business where you won't speak out against a child rapist out of fear that it will destroy your career?
