What does it say about our society that a pop star feels combelled to embellish his sins and crimes to gain credibility with fans?
I never knew that 'convicted' was spelled with a 'k'? Hmmmmm.
Hey! Embellishment is the 'in' thing today. All the Politicians are doing it. Truth, schmuth. Who needs it any more. (heavy sarcasm)
I asked myself that very question this morning. I think one of the things it says is our standards as a society are lower then they should be and our compass is a little off. Then again bad boys attract attention and enhancing your street cred is an effective marketing tool. Something like "I don't play an instrument, can't sing, have no skills as an arranger and rap ultra-retarded nursey rhymes. But I do have a sampler and a criminal record so you should buy my CD."
Rap is crap. Really. Bunch of talentless thugs appealing to a narrow target audience where degradation and violence are premiered and valued. Apparently there are a lot of dumb a$$es willing to financially supports these jokers.
I guess this guy is an R&B singer and not a rapper. I haven't actually heard him sing, so I could be wrong on this point, but the articles I read noted that. It's obvious that he's going for that rap demographic that values "street cred" over talent.
