Two, Three, Many Martha Coakleys

Martha Coakley was unbeatable one month ago. Now she is an also ran. This opens up interesting possibilities for the 2010 midterms. Senators, congressmen, and governors once deemed safe aren't safe anymore. If a Democrat can lose in Massachusetts, a Democrat can lose anywhere. So who are you looking to get knocked off in November's elections? Nevada Senator Harry Reid? Florida bigmouth Congressman Alan Grayson? Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick? Who is going to sit next to Martha Coakley on the one-way train to Loserville? Name some names, even some ones I have never heard of before.

It would be really sweet if a Republican in my state would clobber Kirsten Gillibrand (or Harold Ford, who may be running for Gillibrand's Senate seat--formerly Hillary Clinton's seat) come November. Not saying it's going to happen, but it would be sooooooooooooo sweet.

Seeing Reid's political career die will be the most welcome part of the upcoming election. We all but know he's going to lose; we've pretty much known it for a while; but that it's practically inevitable will make it no less exciting when it finally happens.

While watching Marcia Hackley's concession speech tonight, I observed Governor Patrick in the background and it looked like somebody had forced him to eat an excrement sandwich.

The look of shear shock on his face was a great topper on a very good day.

Dan,

No one will have to knock Deval off. He won't be running.

I'll be doing everything I can to send Gerry Connolly home, but it looks like I'll have some help. (11th District in VA)

I agree with Rich. Deval will take off for Washington sometime in March, most likely as AG.

If Kansas has a six term Democratic representative, a Democrat can win anywhere. Too bad he's retiring this year.

Is there something up with Holder that would allow for Patrick to go to Washington to take the AG Kingship?

I mean, he's not right, but he hasn't yet fulfilled his stated destiny of trying all illegal enemy combatants in civil courts while providing for them the rights of citizens and completing his honest conversation with the cowardly American people regarding race.

Although, I don't see DP taking a relatively heavy lifting job to be the Nation's Top Cop.

Rep Gabrielle Giffords (D) 8th Dist of AZ.
She voted for health care.
She voted for Stimulus.
She (and her husband God knows why) went to Copenhagen for the Environut talks.
She is pro-choice
She has a mixed record on gun control.
She opposes Iraq.
