One the toothpaste is out of the tube on ObamaCare, there will be no putting it back. Conservatives opposed Medicare and Medicaid, for instance--in 1965. But in 2010, they defend them to the extent that Medicare cuts are cited as a reason to oppose ObamaCare. Unfortunately, conservative means conserving the gains of liberalism. Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, and so many other bad programs opposed on principle by conservatives become sacrosanct once made law. If you hop in a time machine and head fifteen years into the future, you'll see some of ObamaCare's detractors defending it. The party of no, unfortunately, isn't the party of repeal.
In order to actually repeal something, you will need to have much more Conservatives in positions of real power. I think the people opposing Obamacare based upon the fact that it will lead to medicare cuts are not real conservatives. The primary opposition to Obamacare is not from Conservatives. It is from the American people. They realize the end result of this plan will be that it will make heath care more expensive, it will lower the quality of health care, and there will be massive delays in getting the health care that is wanted or needed.
Iv by "party of no" you mean Republicans, in order to actually repeal something they would need to actually be Conservative. Being Republican and being Conservative are not the same thing. Then they would need to have enough actualy memebers in important government positions.
Btw, the term "party of no" to describe Republicans is part of Mr. Obama's propaganda machine. The Republicans don't have the actual power to oppose any thing right now. Obama's primary problem is with Democrats not Republicans.
Therein lies the problem for Republicans/Conservatives and sensible Democrats and the left knows it. Once an entitlement is floated, passed and maintained, it is very difficult for the opposition to muster the will to repeal it.
If the state sponsored abortion that expensive national rationed healthcare most certainly is that is being pushed by Obama ever passes, it will be absolutely necessary for the survival of this nation to have it repealed. We'll have to see if the political will exists to do that.
