The Future of President Obama's History

Barack Obama is not even president yet, and his supporters are ready to etch his face upon Mount Rushmore. I'm not sure if this works for or against the president-to-be. On the one hand, tens of millions of people are emotionally invested in the success of his presidency. No matter how badly he stumbles, Obama's votaries won't be ready psychologically to call it failure. On the other hand, the bar has been raised to a level impossible to meet. Obama has been compared to Moses and Jesus, and a congressman, anticipating the success of his presidency, has introduced legislation to repeal the 22nd amendment limiting president's to two full terms in office. Should Obama neither part the Red Sea nor walk on water, he will fail to meet the lofty expectations set for him. It's unclear which phenomenon will prevail. What is certain is that the success or failure of the 44th president of the United States has been in part decided before Barack Obama has taken the oath of office.

This Cult of Personality is a scary thing. But not surprising in a country where entertainment trumps reality and appearance trumps competence. It appears that we don’t value merit any longer. At least for those trusted to run our country.

It’s true that many have much invested in a successful Obama Presidency. But what are the terms of that success and what does it mean when people like George Soros are pulling his strings? If it means the successful demise of the United States, then it could be mission accomplished at some future time.

If his past choices of friends and associates and his present choices of cabinet and advisors are any indication, he will, by the standards of those paying attention and certainly by the standards of the Right, fail.

But most people will never know because the U.S. Ministry of Education and Indoctrination and the U.S. Ministry of Propaganda will not allow for the truth to come out.

There is something true, and troubling, about the whole "emotional investment" in Obama. Too often will and emotion are too powerful for reason and conscience.

The contrast between the media's treatment of a Republican and a Democrat, especially an African American, is sobering. Assuming that Obama can be expected to make a relatively high percentage of mistakes due to his inexperience, this extreme adoration could be a set up for a major disappointment. The current Massachusetts administration's record is an obvious example of a disappointing start by a popular, but weak and inexperienced Democrat. My guess is that Obama's new cabinet of rivals will be as much trouble for Obama as it was for Lincoln. His inexperience, wrong-minded policies, and a cabinet pulling in many directions simultaneously may soon result in one major screw-up after another.

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

As it turns out, social developments have been constructed that are based on the reverse of this.

Obama is our first African-American president (really it's Halfrican-American), right? Well, which of his "African" family members are going to be there? His brother? His father? His black grandparents? Who? Has any media outlet been covering this? Is it really just going to be his white mother and grandmother and then his wife and daughters?

Obama: our first half-European-American president.

The far left have set their expectations so high the only thing that can happen is disappointment. Left wing-nuts don't realize Obama will have to rule, excuse me, I mean govern from the center. Just like every President before him. By April 30th, his approval rating will be half of what it is now.

Obama has accomplished nothing in his political career and expectations should be that he will continue to accomplish nothing.

When the going get's tough; Obama will vote present as he always has.

But you won't know it by how the left wing press will cover it.

BTW; should Chris Matthews see a Doctor? Most people have Viagra but Chris Matthews has Obama and the warning says to see your doctor for an erection lasting more than four hours. Before the election, Matthews had just a tingle. He must have a full monty since the One was elevated to President-E.

"But most people will never know because the U.S. Ministry of Education and Indoctrination and the U.S. Ministry of Propaganda will not allow for the truth to come out."

Sounds like you went to a private christian school and watch a lot of Fox news. Did that private school force you to read Orwell? Bush sure used those ministries to his advantage and came out with a sub 30% approval rating... he tried to keep the country dumb and making bombs in the factories as a way to keep the country strong.

"The far left have set their expectations so high the only thing that can happen is disappointment. "

It just seems high because his predecessor was so low. He can't do any worse, and will forever be judged a success because of it. It is a jagged little pill but you have to swallow it.

Thank the Lord! On the way way out, Bush did the right thing and pardoned Ramos and Campeon.

I'm going to miss that big lug.

After the Inauguration and all the parties and the accolades have been dispensed with, it will be time for Obama to get to work on campaigning for his next term. His surrogates will handle the day to day and planning duties while the incompetent corrupt used car salesman will go to work to insure another four years after this four years.

This is, definitely, change we can believe in!

Nickypots: what about his illegal alien Aunt who is living in South Boston in section eight housing and collecting government assistance?

Apparently, breaking the law is no big thang for the President Elect or his ilk. Even to 52% of the brain dead Amercian voters from what is apparent.

asdf,
Obama and his supporters have already lowered the bar and let us know that things will take years to get better. Too bad that sort of honesty was not on display during the election. It is honest though. If Obama's plans are enacted the economy will not improve before we are voting again in a presidential. And he may be elected again all on promise rather than achievement.

Seems to me that everyone here would want Obama to succeed. Too much is at stake.
