Socialized Medicine + Amnesty = Free Health Care for Illegal Aliens

Joe Wilson lacked civility when he shouted, "You lie!" But was Wilson right? Will ObamaCare cover illegal aliens? It depends on your definition of "illegal." "Even though I do not believe we can extend coverage to those who are here illegally, I also don't simply believe we can simply ignore the fact that our immigration system is broken," Obama said Wednesday explained to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. "That's why I strongly support making sure folks who are here legally have access to affordable, quality health insurance under this plan, just like everybody else." He went on to say, "If anything, this debate underscores the necessity of passing comprehensive immigration reform and resolving the issue of 12 million undocumented people living and working in this country once and for all." Leave aside the fact that illegal aliens already benefit from Medicaid and the fact that Democrats have killed various amendments explicitly denying coverage to illegal aliens. The president's nod-and-wink linkage of amnesty with socialized medicine belies his earlier promise to keep illegals out of his health care plan.

Our immigration system is not broken. Those who qualify fill out the appropriate paperwork and work to become legal citizens of the United States.

Those who don’t, come here uninvited and by definition illegally and we have laws that are designed to not only keep them out but to allow for their apprehension and expulsion once they are here.

I think what’s broken is more accurately the abuse of those laws by not enforcing them.

But his intention all along was to offer cheap citizenship to any lawbreaker who wants it. Unfortunately, expanding the Democratic voter base will increase costs for all of us and will be another budget and deficit killer.

You're talking about Bush, right?

Of course. In addition to McCain, Obama and various other frauds.

What is amazing to me is how stupid any Republican is who would support the naturalization of illegal criminals as it will always benefit the party of death, socialism and free stuff.

Again, these days, it seems that there is usually a chasm's worth of difference between many who call themselves Republicans and Conservatives.

I hate to say cut and run. But, cut and run. Afghanistan is a loser and outside of the reasons for our initial expedition there, there is nothing of value left that would warrant the United States to continue a presence or to keep sending troops there.

I know that the Obfuscator in Chief keeps trying slight of hand with Healthcare, but it's not all eyes on this non-issue that we should be focusing on with the economy going down the tubes, two wars and shaky world relations and danger on the horizon. I thing we could do without - at least - one less military exercise that will render nothing for this nation.

Ultimately though, it all means nothing with this current administration cutting funding for military and defense in general. Worse still is the message that the Hope and Change pantywaist folks are sending to our friends and our enemies alike.

We may end up needing all the troops we can get right here at home.

Obama is "cutting" the defense budget? How I wish it were so. The fact is that FY2010 defense budget is 9% more than last year's:

After all, I think we can afford to cut defense more than a little:

Well, I don't get it. Was Gates lying? Was he misinterpreting what the administration was proposing to do?

One of many....
