Top Democrats Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, and Tom Daschle voted for the Iraq War only to wash their hands of ownership once things went wrong on the ground. Karl Rove's must-read piece in the Wall Street Journal paints a similar picture of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's relationship to the Bush Administration's enhanced-interrogation techniques of terrorists. Speaker Pelosi now calls waterboarding "torture." It plays well with her San Francisco constituents and respondents to direct-mail packages. What doesn't play so well is Pelosi's complicity in what she lambastes the Bush Administration for. "It is clear that after the 9/11 attacks Mrs. Pelosi was briefed on enhanced interrogation techniques and the valuable information they produced," Rove writes. "She not only agreed with what was being done, she apparently pressed the CIA to do more. But when political winds shifted, Mrs. Pelosi seems to have decided to use enhanced interrogation as an issue to attack Republicans. It is disgraceful that Democrats who discovered their outrage years after the fact are now braying for disbarment of the government lawyers who justified EITs and the prosecution of Bush administration officials who authorized them."
Lying gutless leftist weasels.
With Pelosi, you can add crazy too.
Holy Cow, I've been listening to some clips of Pelosi trying to weasel her way out of this and she seems to be just as inept at lying as she is a Speaker of the House. Maybe worse.
Got to love him. Pitbull comes to mind..
"Obama Administration to Cheney: Request Denied
The Obama administration has turned down former Vice President Dick Cheney’s request for the declassification of two CIA reports on the effectiveness of the Agency’s detainee program, THE WEEKLY STANDARD has learned. A letter dated May 7, 2009, from the CIA’s Information and Privacy Coordinator, Delores M. Nelson, rejected Cheney’s request because the documents he has requested are involved in a Freedom of Information Act court battle.
“In researching the information in question, we have discovered that it is currently the subject of pending FOIA litigation (Bloche v. Department of Defense, Amnesty International v. Central Intelligence Agency). Therefore, the document is excluded from Mandatory Declassification Review,” Nelson wrote in the letter to the National Archives, the agency responsible for handling Cheney’s request.
The rejection of Cheney’s request will almost certainly intensify the public back-and-forth between the former vice president and the current administration. The contentious debate over enhanced interrogation exploded on April 16, when Obama authorized the release of four memos on interrogation prepared by the Bush Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel. In a statement accompanying the release, Obama pointed to “exceptional circumstances” surrounding the memos that required their declassification and release. Four days later, in an interview on Fox News, Cheney revealed that he had requested the declassification of two memos that demonstrate that the techniques were effective."
And I thought Pelosi was insane?! Must be something in the water Democrats are drinking...
"Obama Says U.S. Long-Term Debt Load ‘Unsustainable’
By Roger Runningen and Hans Nichols
May 14 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama, calling current deficit spending “unsustainable,” warned of skyrocketing interest rates for consumers if the U.S. continues to finance government by borrowing from other countries.
“We can’t keep on just borrowing from China,” Obama said at a town-hall meeting in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, outside Albuquerque. “We have to pay interest on that debt, and that means we are mortg@ging our children’s future with more and more debt.”
Holders of U.S. debt will eventually “get tired” of buying it, causing interest rates on everything from auto loans to home mortg@ges to increase, Obama said. “It will have a dampening effect on our economy.”
Earlier this week, the Obama administration revised its own budget estimates and raised the projected deficit for this year to a record $1.84 trillion, up 5 percent from the February estimate. The revision for the 2010 fiscal year estimated the deficit at $1.26 trillion, up 7.4 percent from the February figure. The White House Office of Management and Budget also projected next year’s budget will end up at $3.59 trillion, compared with the $3.55 trillion it estimated previously."
Where does this moron think the money is coming from when he runs budgets (read: deficit spending) through the roof? The government is out of money and will never have enough to sustain actual and proposed spending. So where are they going to get it? Do the simple math and it's borrowing or printing.
This is what you get when you allow lawyers who have never lived in the real world where there is no requirement to do any heavy run things.

I think it's pretty obvious: if we can't sustain this spending, he needs to lower his tax floor or vacuum more from the rich. He's prepping for the "Alas, I have to raise taxes on those making 75K!". Leave him alone. He did what he could to make his campaign promise a reality--who could foresee this? ....
That type of thing. He's got to get back to the Democrat "responsibility" to raise taxes.
Anybody who thought different was just b.s.ing themselves. And/or just your typical Democrat cool aid drinker.
