The reversal of many prominent Democrats on closing Guantanamo Bay's detention facility should hardly shock the titular head of their party. President Obama has proved an Indian giver on many of the red-meat campaign promises he threw at his carnivorous left flank. Obama was against suspending habeas corpus (1:39-2:01) for suspected foreign terrorists--when a Republican was president. Obama has "grown in office." Candidate Obama promised "no more illegal wiretapping of American citizens." He has since rethought President Bush's "warrentless wiretapping" policy. For President Obama, it's military tribunals for me, but not for thee (4:24-4:38). The strange dynamics of American politics, in which participants root for the home team rather than a set of ideas, will likely result in the Dems that Obama betrayed giving him a pass and the Republicans whose stances he ultimately took crying foul over his broken promises.
I still don’t think this guy gives a fat rat’s patoot about this country as constituted but does care about reshaping it into some kind of socialist construct. Pushing his agendas will likely take some time and will definitely required the complicity of his peers and foes alike. So now that little Barry has the lay of the security landscape and what it will take to protect this nation, it behooves him to come back to reality for a second and recognize policies that work even though they may be unpopular with his base and secondary to his eventual ends.
Now that he knows, even though America is lacking, he will work to avoid another attack on his watch at all costs, as finger pointing at Hussein Obama and his cause will be hurt.
There is always an agenda behind the appearance of caring for narcissist ideologues. In this case that supercedes the wishes of his true believer followers.
Unemployment %12.9 in Michigan. Granholm and Obama. Another winning liberal combination.

This is a corker. Obama and our government is going to assist the United Arabs Emirates with the development of nuclear power plants.
Am I missing something here? The same people in government who refuse to allow for us to develop ALL of our energy resources, including nuclear if not specifically, and expect us to run our nation on unicorn hair and pixie dust are helping another economy with the latest and greatest available energy technology.
Am I missing something here?
"LONDON (Reuters) - The dollar fell to a 2009 low on Friday as fears intensified that the United States could lose its triple-A rating, while renewed caution about the world economy and banks prompted Asian and European stocks to slip.
The dollar's latest decline started when ratings agency Standard & Poor's cut its ratings outlook on Britain to negative from stable, stoking fears other AAA-rated countries which are running huge debt levels could share a similar fate."
The World sees the President and his cabal of Democrat worshipers printing and spending crazy money that we don't have and are scared silly.
But, this too, must be George Bush's fault.
Meanwhile, out of the Obama echo chamber....
Now I know there is something mentally wrong with this guy. Obama informs the country on C-SPAN that we’re out of money. Really!?
He just spent almost a trillion on a bogus ‘stimulus’ government shopping spree, $410 billion extra on a 2009 supplemental budget allocation, his budget next year will be in the trillions, untold billions on the U.S. car buyout program, not even counting the additional $350 billion in TARP that he didn’t need to spent plus the $150 billion pork portion of the bill.
And, NEWSFLASH – we’re running out of money.
The amazing part of this is how the used car salesman in Chief blames the outrageous debt on decades of health care costs out of control!
So, we can’t borrow anymore; our dollar and bond ratings are down the tubes; he’s already printed a trillion in new dollars, on and on. But Heaven forbid we don’t spend more trillions on a government health care plan that will provide lousy service and care.
Seriously, this guy is truly crazy. You know how crazy when his own party asks him to slow down on his complete destruction of the U.S. car industry.
In ana-lysis of all this, it's hard not to see vindication for Bush's prediction that Obama would do many of the things he did, because Obama was already seeing the same intelligence that Bush saw. That was that calm assuredness that so often rankled the press. But if a man from the Center-right and a man from the far-left can pursue the same course, you'd think that there would also be some vindication for both men who tread the same path.
So yeah, perhaps Obama is to be given some credit for adjusting his views, but maybe Bush should be given a little as well for his responsiveness to whatever the contents of those briefings may be.
