Bill Clinton felt your pain. Barack Obama laughs at it. Clinton was most effective when dealing with people in unscripted one-on-one situations. Obama is most effective in front of a teleprompter sermonizing a dehumanized mass of humanity. Clinton and Obama could campaign. But thus far, the latter has shown no capacity to govern. The Jedi Mind Trick obscuring this inconvenient truth has led to overexposure: Barack announcing his NCAA basketball tournament picks, Barack joking that he bowls as if he were in the Special Olympics, Barack conducting a publicity tour. What was charming is now tedious. As his plunging approval ratings indicate, the president's strategy of a permanent campaign in the place of the hard job of governing is backfiring.
Can't teach an old dog........but, we knew he knew nothing and was the ultimate media creation and empty suit.
I'd like to see a comparrison to how much time Bush spent traveling out of Washington during his first few months as president compared to Obama. It seems to me that Obama runs away from Washington every chance he gets.
Wasn't Bush accused of being in constant campaign mode? In the case of President Bush, this may have been so. It was necessary to provide a counter weight to the constant negative media coverage of him.
In the case of Barack Obama, the media coverage of him is almost universeally positive. As such, he should not find it necessary to campaign. His media lackeys are doing it for him. He must feel that he needs to stay in campaign mode because even his press lackeys are not going to be able mask a poor performance for any length of time. Unless he starts to perform better soon, I don't think he can mask his poor performance either.
Each to their abilities and he has reached the limits of his abilities.
In his short unimpressive political career, he has demonstrated little that would indicate that he knows how to or wants to govern.
To the point where he is recently being referred to as the T(Teleprompter)OTUS instead of POTUS.
B., I don't any serious person would say that W. was in constant campaign mode. He governed and announced things as "the decider" and it seemed like he was oblivious to outsiders and criticism because he knew they would be insanely unfair and hostile anyway. He seemed to govern as a mixture of a dear caught in headlights and an emperor issuing edicts.
Karl Rove may have been in constant campaign mode, but that was his job.
The teleprompter stuff IS amusing, but I really think is a side show (what is truly alarming and the real issues are his policy plans). And I also think it worth noting that Obama is generally a quite good communicator even without the teleprompter. For instance, he beat McCain in all the debates, he surprised by more than holding his own and arguable winning the debates with Hillary and company. And with a couple of exceptions he has been good in interview. For instance, I caught part of his appearance on Leno, and I thought he shined.
Make no mistake: Obama is dangerous; his plans will prove disastrous for our country, if implemented. And his ability to communicate, in all venues, makes him much more dangerous for the very fact that he can convince a whole lot of people to go along with him.
Plunging approval ratings at 63%, better than Reagan at the same time.
Phew! I thought his current spending was ending at $3.2 Trillion. Now I"m glad to hear that it will certainly, absolutely, positively STOP! at $3.6 Trillion.
Ok, now that we have the limit, we can all relax.

It’s just so Bush to refer to terrorism as “Terrorism”. Under the new regime it will now be referred to as “Man-Caused Disaster”. Same goes for the “Global War on Terrorism”. Under the command of our Grand Omnipotent Supreme Leader, it will now be “Overseas Contingency Operation”.
Now take your Soma and shut up!
To play devil's advocate, it could be that our wired, globalized, flat world needs a leader with PR savvy more than ever.
We may all disagree with Obama's strategies, but we cannot deny his facility with communication.
If we must overcome our collective insecurity to move the economy forward, I do not think it is inappropriate to command a strong presence in various media outlets, to show an optimistic face, and to, as Barack mentioned, show some "Gallows humor" once in a while.
I thought he did an excellent job in the press conference yesterday, particularly on the off-the-cuff questions. For all of those who thought he recited only trite slogans from the teleprompter, I hope you watched as he gave specific and thoughtful answers to each journalist in attendance.
That reminds me of a short conversation I had with a 20 something woman, who after the Obamanator gave his first major address as President, she started by asking, “hey, did you hear that speech last night?”. I replied that I had and when I attempted to discuss what he had actually said it became clear that she had no clue what the content of his words meant. Or maybe she just didn’t pay attention.
She and many like her are the perfect O audience and in fact the same people who foisted this most dangerous individual on us all.
He’s got the rap; he’s hip; he’s got the electronic gismos and knows how to utilize them; he’s got people telling him what to say and when to say it, but the man has no substance.
In fact, he’s more qualified to be a salesman at Best Buy than he is to be POTUS.
Uncle Tomma Obomba maybe half-white, but this sucka got ALL hiz moves from REVIE RIGHT!
