David Paterson, 2009 Profile in Courage Award Winner

The New York Post reports that Caroline Kennedy, after Governor David Paterson decided not to appoint her to the senate seat that Hillary Clinton has just vacated, has withdrawn her name from consideration. What!?! This is so junior high. It's like your girlfriend, almost at the I-hope-we-can-still-be-friends part, breaking the bad news of the break-up to you, only to have you cut-in to inform her that you are breaking up with her. Did you expect more from a woman who dishes out "you know" and "uh" the way Obama says "hope" and "change"?

UPDATE: A source, perhaps Caroline's BFF, gossips to the Associated Press that John Kennedy's daughter wants the senate seat, after all. Like I, you know, said, this whole thing is so, eh, seventh grade.

UPDATE of the UPDATE: I'm in. I'm out. I'm in. I'm out. Caroline Kennedy issued a statement declaring that "for personal reasons I am withdrawing my name from consideration for the United States Senate." That settles it--until the next mood swing. Might those "personal reasons" have something to do with Governor Paterson's rejection of her candidacy?

UPDATE of the UPDATE of the UPDATE: A source close to me, who is me, says that these are the "personal reasons"--exhibit 1 and exhibit 2--that Mrs. Kennedy obliquely referenced in her withdrawal statement.

Like, you know, she might have, you know, agreed to some kind of, you know like, arrangement with, you know, her ailing Uncle, you know, Ted, when he like resigns his seat, you know, to be the like Junior Senator from, you know, Massachusetts.

Is it more important that one speaks well or if one has a grasp of the content of the words that they speak?

In his a meeting today, where Obama signed an Executive Order to close Gitmo, he made a short speech about this new action but had to ask an aid nearby for specifics and then proceeded to parrot them back, exactly, as they were communicated to him.

Is this the kind of intellectually superior performance that is supposed to replace that failed Bush Presidency?

Yeah, and what about the debacle regarding the press secretary's comments concerning the field manual and interrogation? Does anybody within this administration know anything? I can't wait to see what SNL does with it all. I heard they were going to parody Michelle Obama's curtain she called a dress...oh wait, that's only if the woman is white. Hope and Change!

The fact that that idiot Caroline Kennedy won't get the job is the best news for New York since Eliot Spitzer got exposed as a john.

Some on the Right think that picking Kennedy would've been better for conservatives because Kennedy would've been a more beatable foe in the general election than anyone else. But I'm sufficiently pessimistic that I fear she could've been elected despite the fact that she's never worked a day in her life and has a brain that would rattle in the head of a flea.

As a New Yorker, I'm relieved to see that Caroline Kennedy will never be my senator. Now if only we could do something about Schumer....
