Imagine the outcry if George W. Bush had named the leader of a prominent pro-life organization as a mouthpiece for his administration. Witness the muted response to President-elect Barack Obama selecting Ellen Moran, executive director of Emily's List, an organization dedicated to the election of pro-choice politicians, to serve as his communications director. Obama is in the tank for the abortion zealots, and the media is in the tank for him
Yep. As it is written.
Consider that 54% of the Catholic vote went to the baby killer in chief.
And the bishops were more clear this year than ever that abortion, as an intrinsic evil, was one of the, if not the, preeminent issue to vote on.
No effect at all. The Catholic vote always goes to the winner. Anyone ana1yze the evangelic vote this year? I'm curious.
Being a Catholic, I find the seriousness of my fellow communicants lacking. They typically talk the talk but rarely walk the walk.
I don't think there is much of a "Catholic vote" that is distinguishable from the general vote. 2/3rds of American Catholics do not attend mass regularly, so most of the Church in America is not actually part of any broader Catholic community.
Will the Pope ever tell the five Catholics on the Supreme Court to get rid of Roe v Wade? He could. They could. It would be easy.
Guido---Is Kennedy a Catholic? A real one? He doesn't have any distinguishing characteristics?
That would be the point. In a post-election break down of voters, it was noted that 54% of voters who identified themselves as Catholics voted for President-elect infanticide.
I think that similar principles could be applied to Jews as well as their percentages for Obama were higher than the Catholics.
Just using those two religious demographics as examples, people who take their religious beliefs or survival seriously could not vote for this guy in big numbers or if at all.
