I Am Ready for Some Football

I am ready for some football! A Busch 20-pack sits on ice. A burglar's cap, a long sleeve shirt, a Belichick hoody, and a padded flannel shirt will keep me off ice. The same friend who scored free Springsteen tickets this summer has scored tickets to another Foxboro, Massachusetts event. The New England Patriots take on the Denver Broncos tonight on Monday Night Football, and I will be at Gillette Stadium to catch all the action live. When ESPN does the obligatory gliding-camera wideshot of the crowd, squint hard and you will see me cheering.

You're watchin' a butt kickin' so far, Dan. Pats look impressive.

Yeah, how could the Pats POSSIBLY blow this one? They've got it sown up. No way they could lose this game. Not in a million years.

The pats are officially back. Cue the duckboats!

I’m surprised that an accomplished, educated, political sophisticate like yourself could participate in such ways and enjoy it.

Must be that blue collar Arlington upbringing? ;-)

You truly are a man of the people.

I am surprised that any man with taste buds could drink Busch Light and enjoy it.

Not to be picky, especially when it comes to Busch beer, but there is a difference between Busch and Busch light.

In my opinion, Busch is a very drinkable bargain beer and perfect for a pre-game tailgate.

But, then again, I'm not a beer snob.

But, Bud Light has drinkability.

Sayyy....they should use that in a commercial.

Sam Adams provides a variety of beers, all of which are awesome, for not that much more money.

Posted by: Ben on October 21, 2008 03:04 PM

Are you saying that 20 Sam's would not cost that much more than 20 Busch's?

Don't think it's a question of money anyway. Sometimes a cheap lighter brew does the trick better than a heavy and hoppy "meat in a bottle" type beer.

Plus, when you get hammered, it's less of a concern when you're spraying or pouring a cheaper brew on your friends! ;-\

I had a Sam Adams inside of the stadium. Busch is the best value, which is why I drink it. I have gotten Busch bottle 20-packs for as little as $8.99 (though they usually go for $10.59). Bud bottle 20-packs generally go for $15.99. Is Bud really $5 better than Busch? I don't think so.

I don't know what the exact difference is but I can't imagine it is all that huge. I am a college student and I usually get two twelve packs of some kind of Sam Adams a week, runs me thirty dollars, not that much money.

You can pay at night or pay in the morning....

I'd gladly trade Brad Johnson for a pack of Busch Light. Thank God the 'Horns are good this season. I feel a 'Boys collapse coming on.

I agree about the Busch/Bud comparison and the pricing thereof. Bud is a bit cleaner but pretty much from the same vat.

Had one of those American (Bud) Ales last night. Reminded me of Killians. The former tasted something like Bud with food coloring and the latter like Coors with food coloring.
