There was a media fury after Ronald Reagan left office. He had agreed to deliver a series of speeches in Japan, and in return, his hosts had agreed to pay him $2 million. It took Matt Drudge, not exactly Mr. Mainstream Media, to alert me that Bill Clinton has earned more than $50 million from honoraria since his presidential tenure ended. I don't begrudge the guy for making a buck, or two, or fifty million. But I have to laugh at the silence of liberal journalists, many of whom raised a firestorm in response to Reagan's Japanese lecture tour, over the largesse of ex-President Clinton's honoraria-filled bank account. Mr. Clinton, the author of a tome on philanthropy called "Giving," made all of his donations (along with his wife) last year to the Clinton Foundation. Giving tax exempt donations to, well, me? Sounds better than claiming donated underwear as a charitable contribution. Why, again, do we provide pensions to presidents?
Sounds like the Human Fund to me.
Between the two of these reprobates, I read yesterday that they're worth $109 million at this time. Pretty good for a crooked politician and a corrupt lawyer.
There are so many stories not reported by the leftist mainstream media about how sleazy and cheap these two are (like how Bill never had any pocket change and hit up his SS guys for McDonald's money, among many other things).
I think to be a Democrat is to be a hypocrite. When in office, they grab for as much free stuff as possible, all the while "feeling the pain" of their constituents who they take large sums from and return crumbs back to.
And after their service at the public trough, they reap the huge benefits of stardom.
So, as mentioned before, it's impressive that bad old Republicans like the Cheneys give away 78% of their income to charities while kind hearted noble Democrats (who do it all for the children), like the Obamas, give away a paltry 6%.
And this reminds me of a joke: what do you get when you cross a crooked politician with a corrupt lawyer? Chelsea Clinton.
asdf, do you have a source for the 'Cheney 78%'? I find that fascinating.
So do I. I think he made "78%" up. That said, the Clintons are crooks (and hypocrites). Hey Bill, how about opening your checkbook for some charitable "giving" instead of writing a book about the concept in order to make yourself even richer? What a joke!
You could look it up yourself. But, the Cheney's reported income of $8.82 million and donated to charity $6.87 million (78%).
Try this one....
