Patrick Kennedy (D-Anacostia)

Patches is back! Straight from rehab, Patrick Kennedy says that in light of crashing his auto in the darkness of the a.m., he wants to be treated just like an "African-American in Anacostia" caught in a similar situation. Yeah, and this is why he darted off to a Minnesota rehabilitation facility--just like a black guy from Southeast DC--when the heat came down on him. This is why he gave his get-out-of-jail-free line--I'll miss a vote if you arrest me--when the cops stopped him (How might that line work for a brother from the 'hood faced with a field sobriety test?). So when Patrick Kennedy orders an Arnold Palmer instead of a Cape Codder, when he scuttles off to attend a "meeting," when he chain smokes and drinks endless coffee as substitute addictions, cut the man some slack--not because he's a Kennedy, but because that's how you'd treat an African-American from Anacostia fresh out of rehab.

Why do the Kennedys bother with the pretense. The public apparently will continue to elect them regardless of their lack of character. They probably endanger their position by adopting these false poses and insulting the public in the process.

Dan,

This is the best post i've read from you for a while. I miss the sarcasm and wit that used to prevail on this site. Great post!

It seems that liberals, and especially Kennedy's, get a free pass on these kinds of things. The press conveniently looks the other way.

Go figure.

I don't recall Dan ever ceasing to be sarcastic. I suppose one could debate when or if he began to be witty...

As Dan mentioned a few posts back when referring to JFK, they don't make Kennedys like they used to.

This kid is the latest in a string of the Kennedy spawn who demonstrates three watt bulb intelligence and the behavior that results from it along with not having to worry about having principles or character.

And, chalk up another example of voters getting the government they deserve: the GOP caucus in R.I. announced that they thought young Blotches should step down and straighten himself out and they were flooded with hate mail from angry citizens.

Go figure?
