McKinney Allegedly Punches Cop

Before Cynthia McKinney allegedly punched a Capitol police officer, the policeman failed to recognize her as a member of congress. Can you blame him? When she inferred that the Bush administration had advance knowledge of 9/11 or defended Robert Mugabe's land expropriation in Zimbabwe, I had trouble beliving that she was a member of congress too.

I read that the CP are waiting for Congress to end session, and then they're going to arrest her. That should be a great scene.

And people don't think that in another twenty years we're going to be a third world country?

Certainly looks like we're heading in that direction as our society rapidly continues to devolve.

This is S. O. P. if you are a Kennedy or a politician from Massachusetts. The police should stop hatin on her hairstyle.

What?

She should be arraigned, charged, and processed like a common criminal. What would happen If you or I punched a policeman. I'm interested to see what happens and then i'll wait for Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton to step in and wave the Racism flag....just wait, it's ganna happen. They're already getting their lawyers together...a circus will ensue.

This whole country has become a circus thanks to the like of Sharpton, Jackson and the ACLU. I agree, the US will be a 3rd world country before long, because the law will simply be tossed out the window....Who watches the watchers?

Unfortunately, we keep seeing more of this banana republic mentality in our government and in the management of our cities. Former Mayor Marion Barry of D.C. and current mayor Ray ‘put down the crack pipe’ Nagin of N.O. come to mind. And now we have this mentally imbalanced woman in Congress whose constituency probably understands why she punched a cop. Getting scary out there folks.

Just for the record, former "Mayor for Life" Mayor Marios S. Barry, Jr. has taken quite a fall. He's been charged with not paying his taxes, he's still hooked on coke, and the High Life he used to live is all but gone. He also lives in a rather nasty section of town, if I'm not mistaken.

He's paying his dues.

I suppose that works to my point: what kind of citizenry vote for people like this? The bar is definitely getting lower and the old saying that 'the people get the government they deserve' rings very true. As people continue to have lower expectations, they will get the Marion Barry or Cynthia McKinney types and will apparently accept low character and bad behavior from their elected officials.

I would like to know why Congressmen are allowed to bypass metal detectors.

McKinney is the rep for the district I grew up in, as the state legislature gerrymandered districts (every elected parties favorite pasttime) it locked her in for life.

That's an excellent point Brian. With our supposed emphasis on security these days, why do they not have to be checked? Especially as they navigate around the Capitol regularly.

What a bunch of crap and how quickly we all forget why security has to be taken very seriously. Unfortunately, it won’t be a priority again until the next 9/11.

And this is why we need term limits. This office for life business is becoming epidemic. For a lot of these tools (see Ted Kennedy), they have no incentive to do the right thing or, in some cases, act with the dignity that their office deserves as they don't have a fear of being voted out.

As long as certain people are allowed to get away with using the race angle, they will continue to act badly and will put little effort into progressing beyond who they are.

There was a time when Congress People were above this sort of thing.

You ignorant schmuck.. The Bush Administration knew very well of 911. Deny it all you want. The hard evidence is staring you in the face. IDIOT LEMMINGS

Yeah, I'm sure they did know all about it and then let it happen. Much in the same way Clinton and his crew probably knew that it was coming and let it develop after he allowed a previous attack in 93'. Dumb azz.

S. Y.,
You've obviously got a screw loose.

This just seems to follow along with what's known about this loose cannon....
