Among other lamentable trends and occurrences, Samples points out that government spending will have increased 32 percent from 2000 to 2005. He notes that Bush signed into law the anti-First Amendment McCain-Feingold Bill. And he correctly categorizes the prescription drug law for seniors as a federal entitlement in the same league as Medicare or Social Security.

Well, you can't say that President Bush didn't warn us. During the 2000 campaign, he told us again and again that if Gore received more votes, then big-government liberalism would return.
